As far as series finales go, I was satisfied. I can't really think of what would have made me happy? What did people want? A happier ending? I mean, the finale of Breaking Bad was fitting, even though it wasn't happy. The finale of Lost will forever haunt me as one of the worst ever. So in the scheme of shows totally ruining it in the finale, I will give Ozark a solid B. Good, but not great.

I wanted that too Pamy... so badly!! but all in all.. it was okay. I would give it a C or C+ ;) I LOVED the Breaking Bad ending SO MUCH. One of the best series endings ever. Lost was one of the worst! ugh.. so disappointed I heard Game of Thrones was a bad ending too but I never made it past the first season.

Game of Thrones was bad but no where near as bad as Lost's finale. I wont even rewatch Lost because they built up to a fizzle.

Spoiler Click below to view spoiler | I'm not sure W did get a happy ending. I think it's like the Hotel California -- you can never leave. They are tied to this, and now who will run the casino? Also she is neck deep in the corruption with her foundation. They are still loosely tied in, but I don't see them as escaping to a happy ending. |

Agree Brenda and that was another thing I didnt like. They really left it open, it felt more like a season finale than a series finale

Spoiler Click below to view spoiler | I think the only way your story "ends" when you get in bed with the s american drug cartel is that you die or you go into witness protection. I would have been really disappointed if they tried to wrap it up in a neat bow. And I surely didn't want any of them to be killed off. So I'm okay with it. Ruth's rage got the best of her. I would have loved to see her ride off into the sunset, but that would have felt false too. |

There is some speculation of an Ozark spin off.

I felt unsettled at the end of Ozark. Almost the same feeling as with the end of Sopranos. Unsettled and unsatisfied. I sure would like a spin off!

Showrunner Chris Mundy gave this vague description of any possible spin off. "There are still ways to stay inside the show and revisit things,” Mundy allows, before acknowledging, “I’m sure people probably would’ve been happier if Ruth was out there.” Any potential offshoot would need to be wholly distinct from the OG series, Mundy maintains. “It was really important for me to end this show,” he says of the mothership. “This is the work we did, we did our best and we hope people like it. And then anything that spins off from it would be its own distinct thing, even though it’s in our universe.” https://tvline.com/2022/05/07/ozark-spinoff-netflix-new-series-premise-chris-mundy/ So I would guess it might be the world where the Byrdes and Ruth (had) existed, but a new crime story and a different group of people. Just guessing.

I suppose it's possible to pick up in the ozarks with whomever is running the casino boat. The Byrds would be back in chicago doing whatever political corruption there possibly loosely tied. I vote for a Bateman cameo!
