Ladies, I only discovered this show midweek last week. I'm already on season 6 episode 2!!!! I have been losing sleep... one night I finally closed the tv at 7:30 in the morning. I've been averaging between 3 and 4 most mornings. So sleepy, but, what can I say, I am completely addicted. I will be sad when I'm done. But look forward to the voiceover explaining each characters future. 😀

Stayed up 'til 7:00 a.m.this morning and watched all the remaining episodes. Going to rewatch the Finale again when I'm more conscious and alert.

Just finished Streaming Acorn's THE FLAME TREES OF THIKA, starring Haley Mills. Silly me, I thought it was 7 seasons but it's only 7 episodes. Regardless, it wonderful. Holly Aird was about 12 years old at the time of filming (1981), and she was OUTSTANDING.

I remember when thika was on PBS so long ago. I enjoyed it a lot. For some reason a lot of movies were about Africa, more than usual, certainly more than now.

Apparently, Doug Henshall ("Jimmy Perez") will not return for Season 8 of Shetland. They will probably bring in a new character to take his place. Like anybody could. 😠I nominate David Tennant to come in as the new head of the Shetland Police Dept!

I started Karen Pirie on Britbox. Very good so far. There are three episodes total. Here is synopsis- From the award-winning producers of Line of Duty comes a new crime drama based on Val McDermid’s best-selling novels. Lauren Lyle stars as the young Scottish detective Karen Pirie, who reopens a cold case after listening to a provocative true crime podcast. Armed with a quick mouth and a tenacious desire for justice, Pirie is fiercely determined to unearth the truth. https://watch.britbox.com/us/karen-pirie?gclid=7db8582fb24e1726e7ef3b73348390a5&gclsrc=3p.ds

I LOVE Karen Pirie!! When I first heard Lauren Lyle had been cast (one of my favorites from Outlander), I immediately read the Val McDermid book that it's based on. Then I read the following five books as I loved them so much! I'm really, really hoping they get a second series.

Great British Baking show on Netflix is my go to feel good show. This year the contestants are all wonderful people that you absolutely love and would love to be friends with them. It is so sad to see one of them go home each Friday.

I hope they get a second series as well, Teach. I googled and it seems highly likely.

I follow Val McDermid and Lauren and their writer Emer Kennedy on Twitter, and they all would love to see it. No word as yet, but it's gotten great reviews.

I gave them all a follow and added Val McDermid to my reading list. I recognized her name from the series Wire in the Blood but I haven’t read any of her books.

Teach, do you mean Emer Kenny? She's also an actress. I love her on Father Brown! Okay, I googles rather show, and Emer not only wrote it, she appears in it. Going to YouTube it if I can find it.

We started watching Karen Pirie on BritBox last night. The lead actress Lauren Lyle was so familiar to me, but I just couldn't place her. Looked her up on imdb just now, and she plays Marsali on Outlander! Ooooooooooh! That's why her voice was so familiar. Love her on both shows.

Mame - if you have a VPN, you can watch through ITV (though the buffering on it drove me nutty!)

A friend downloaded Karen Pirie for me. Barely made it through the 1st ep. Not for me. I found it boring. I tried... sorry! The rest of you... enjoy.

On Britbox I am watching Stonehouse. It is a three part series about a British MP who faked his own death. Real-life couple Matthew Macfadyen and Keely Hawes are the leads. They are fantastic and it is very funny. I am just finishing the second episode.

This weekend I started watching McDonald & Dodds on Britbox. It's a lighthearted detective show. I'm enjoying it. Here's the synopsis: Two detectives with seemingly nothing in common are thrown together. Wildly ambitious DCI McDonald and the shy DS Dodds forge a rumbustious friendship and entertaining, effective partnership as they take on puzzling cases.

I have been watching Unforgotten on PBS, great show and one of my favorite actress/Detectives Nicola Walker stars in it. She was in MI5, Line of Duty.

We've been enjoying Shakespeare and Hathaway on BritBox. It's a light, silly little whodunnit, without the slapstick. We like to end the evening with an episode, especially if we've been watching something heavier. It makes us laugh every time. The guy who plays their assistant Sebastian is awesome! So funny and talented. It's a great show, but sadly it won't be back for a 5th season.

Sugar Nicola Walker was in "Scott and Bailey" a great female lead detective show. She played in one season of that show. "Annika" is another great show Nicola Walker is in. Line of Duty is a great show though as is A Place To Call Home.

On Acorn I’m on episode two of Mrs. Sidhu Investigates. Here is synopsis.. Mrs Sidhu (Meera Syal) is a caterer with a taste for solving mysteries. Her sleuthing turns into an unofficial partnership with dour DCI Burton (Craig Parkinson), who reluctantly accepts that together they make the perfect pairing to fight crime. It’s a fun cozy mystery show. https://acorn.tv/mrssidhuinvestigates
