Series 4 of Sherlock starts on New Years Day on Masterpiece Theatre.

Three episodes, shown Sundays Jan 1st, 8th, 15th, which is great as it's the same time as in England, so less likely to be spoiled.

First episode is "The Six Thatchers," some previews are here ->

Wow, that was fascinating, sometimes a little hard to follow but excellent.

It's always hard to follow!

I never did like her so I'm not as sad as others are.

I'may just starting season 1 on netflix. I'm having to listen extra hard to determine what's being said, lol. He talks so quickly.

You may need to pause occasionally to read the screen too - when there are popups that are too quick to read!

Anyone watch last nights Sherlock? If so, are you confused too?

I only got through part of it. Was so tired, I needed to go to bed. The bad guy was really creepy.

I thought it was fabulous, really enjoyed it, and followed this one better than the first. But I also watched the first again, and have the second on tape to watch again.

I just thought it was interesting that there is a "crazy sister", has Sherlock ever had a crazy sister before now?

Well, I think I have the flu, I was very cold and having chills under the covers while watching this, I DVR'd it so can watch it later tonight again. But I found it very disturbing almost unwatchable, I guess The demise of my brother last year and his totally off the wall nightmare behavior may have set this off, and the early years of my marriage before my husband entered the AA program and a stupid doctor prescribed valium and quaaludes on top of the drinking. It just made me miserable watching it. Not ready to watch it again right now.

We've 'known' there was a 3 Holmes sibling, but it's always been assumed it was another brother. I'm a bit confused by the episode yet though and will need to rewatch.

I didn't understand why the crazy sister would have it in for Watson.

I agree, Sadies, it was very disturbing to watch. I tried watching the CBS(?) version of Sherlock a few years ago, whenever it started, and couldn't watch for the same reason. I just can't do scattered and erratic, makes me very tense.

Yes, that's the one. I wanted to watch it because I like both Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu, but he was just too manic for me.

I have to use 'caption' with the Jonny Lee Miller Sherlock as the sound quality is terrible on that show.
