Maybe it's just the difference from now to eight years ago then. I thought his whole eye and forehead area looked really wrong.

I think he looks a little different too. I think his hair is shorter or receeding, and I think he is a little heavier and it shows in his face.

Michael Vartan is 46 now (He was born in 1968 according to imdb.com)...so he was only 33 when Alias started. I think he just looks a little older...he is at that point where changes due to age tend to start becoming a lot more noticeable. His hair is definitely shorter in the back...severely short...and that makes the shape of his head look oddly different. But I don't think he has had any plastic surgery. He looks like the same Michael Vartan to me, just a little older and with a bad haircut. (image taken from episode 3)

Something just occurred to me and I looked it up....Michael Vartan usually (always?) had facial scruff when he was on Alias and I think that makes a big difference in his appearance, too. I searched for "Michael Vartan as Agent Vaughn on Alias": Google Results

Yeah maybe it's his forehead looking bigger if his hair has receded, or just the haircut is an odd shape. He just looks more different than I thought he would have been. When he smiles he still has that twinkle.

Whoa! At the end there I felt like I flash-backed to the 90s and Beverly Hills 90210. Wasn't that Clare?

I looked it up. That was the same actress that played Clare on BH 90210....Kathleen Robertson.

They are having another "After Hours" show following the finale next week. They must have seen all the complaints about Carrie Keagan as host because she is not hosting this time. Thank goodness. She completely ruined what could have been a great 30 minutes of show discussion. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/05/01/bates-motel-after-hours-hosted-by-dave-holmes-to-air-following-the-season-two-finale-monday-may-5-on-ae/259644/

I thought the funniest part of the after hours show was when they were interviewing Freddie Highmore (Norman) over satellite, and his lips did look really red. And Vera asked him "Are you wearing lipstick"? And Freddie with his quick wit replied "No mother, no. That's next season, not yet"....LOL!

Heads up! "Bates Motel" returns March 9 on A&E, the same night that the American version of "The Returned" starts, also on A&E.

The acting on this show is so much better than many of the shows on tv. I love how Freddie Highmore gets that look on his face as he is turning into his mother. Nice homage last night to the movie.

This second episode was incredibly suspenseful in a couple of parts...with eerie music that was reminiscent of the movie, "Psycho", too!

Poor Sheriff Romero. Things never go well for the men with whom Norma Bates becomes involved. (And they go even worse for her husbands.)

I never expected this. Romero, seemingly one of the most sane people in town agreeing to marry the biggest manipulative nutjob in town? And then becoming the stepfather to biggest delusional nutjob in town? I really believed he was too smart to make this insane decision! It makes me wonder if Romero might be a closeted nutjob himself and has simply not yet shown his true colors.

In the movie, isn't Norma found dead with her boyfriend or husband? I think I remember the sheriff telling them the story.

I don't remember a husband or boyfriend in the original movie, but they may have added one in one of the 3 sequels.
