I did not know or even imagine as a remote possibility that there would be such a twist to this story. I am in shock and am hoping that this is a grand scheme to protect Liz in the long run, but that seems like wishful thinking. What do you all think?

I was very shocked as well. Shocked that we didn't get wind of it? She seems to be dead and gone. I'm so sad. I figure she wanted to leave the show and be a stay at home mom with her own baby. Wow. Can't even imagine where this show is headed now. I have a spark of hope that this is some kind of ruse to protect her, but it seems to me she really is gone.

I was also thinking that maybe she isn't gone but going into hiding to protect her and the baby. Then I wonder how Red will manage that without telling Tom since he has the baby.

I just finished watching. I'm like the rest of you...shocked but yet wondering if it really happened or if it's a ruse to throw off Mr. Solomon. I guess time will tell.
The baby's name is Agnes. Does anyone know why Liz and Tom picked that name?

Agnes - i would need to rewind the show but there was reference to it being connected to Sam, who was the man that raised Elizabeth ....maybe his mother's name??
I too am in TOTALLLLLL shock - and waiting on a "she really is alive" twist... but who knows! they definitely played that right (by means of make it look as realistic as possible that she really is dead)
that baby was adorable.

For the last couple of episodes, I had noticed that Megan Boone's face had gotten rounder, but had missed the news that she is pregnant. So, this morning, with the shock worn off, I do think she will reappear in time. James Spader was cagey in his EW interview.

Yeah, it was pretty obvious she was pregnant in real life, just had that beautiful look. I'd love to see her return somehow! Just will not be the same without her.

I think she will come back alive at a later date. Maybe season finale? I just can't imagine what the point of the show would be without her. Red would help the FBI on his own now?

Some people seem to think it was set up by Mr Kaplan when she went in to talk to her. Tom didn't seem that upset and Red said not to take her to the morgue. I don't think she is dead.

Yes, the whole idea of not taking her to the morgue seemed fishy. But it was SO dangerous to move her when they didn't have the backup escort in place yet. And all of that shocking of her sure looked real! And we still don't underwstand her connection to Red. So much unanswered it seems she has to come back.  Back from the dead!

I didn't buy that she was actually dead for a second. They must have used some kind of paralytic agent that simulates death (it's been done on TV and in movies a thousand times). The only way they could guarantee her safety was to fake her death...the baddies would never stop coming for her if they thought she was alive.
Not sure that Red knows she's alive though...his grief was too convincing. Of course, he is the ultimate con artist/liar/manipulator of all time!
I think they'll keep her hidden away for awhile and then she'll be back. It could be just an episode or two ar maybe even until next season...there are only 4 episodes left this season.
They might even stage Tom's death or his and Agnes' disappearance so they can all be together...it would just be cruel to both of them to separate Agnes from her mother immediately after her birth. I can envision a seasoner opener in the fall of showing Tom, Liz, and Agnes on a tropical beach somewhere.

I'm with Sanfranjoshfan, sounds like the most plausible scenario. This gives the show some interesting room to work around Megan Boone having her child in real life. I'll stay away from looking at projected pilots.

I agree with Sanfran. I also agree with Lazylu that Mr Kaplan told her something.
Another line that stuck with me is 'Tom isnt who you think he is'
Legal, is she listed as an actress on a fall pilot?

interesting but I am not interested in a spin off. I love Tom and Liz together. If there is a spin off and Liz is alive, her and Tom cant be together. However, it said he would make cameo appearances if needed

Since others posted, it just raised more questions to see Ryan eggold listed in the potential spinoff...how can they separate the baby from both if Liz is alive.
