Ah I had read about the ending on the ITV site earlier today. It's sad but better to go out on top.

I finally saw the Christmas special a few weeks ago.
I thought it was a very good episode which was 'sorta a comeuppance for those who needed it, and is leading to next year with career changes for the staff and the sorting of a new love life of Lady Mary and Lady Edith.
Even Thomas was likable, and they 'finally' kicked the Bates thing to the curb.
It was enjoyable that a writer would actually write about elderly love. It's so rarely seen or talked about.
All in all a very well written episode.

I want to see Wolf Hall which will shown on my station this month sometime.
I need to view my local channel guide, I would hate to miss this.
It's not Downtown Abbey but it sounds pretty good.

This is thrilling news, especially for fans of Anthony Trollope, one of the greatest Victorian era writers. Other classics of his that have been adapted for TV are "Barchester Towers" and "The Way We Live Now" -- having Julian Fellowes adapt "Doctor Thorne" should be marvelous. (As far as I'm concerned all 47 of Trollope's novels should be adapted!)

not going to give any spoilers but all I can say is this season is fantastic. They will go out with a bang and for me it will be so sad to say goodbye to all these great characters.

I noticed that Sunday night (Nov 29) there is a show on called "A Salute to Downton Abbey". It's marked as new, so I thought I would post a heads up.

I just set it up to record, but I have a feeling it's going to be one of those "a few minutes of Downton Abbey and 15 pledge drive" things. Over and over. Ugh. At least I'll be able to FF thru the stupid pledge drive.

BabyJ, I just checked and it did record for an hour and 30 mins..so it could be just part of a pledge drive.

It is for a pledge drive, but I'm enjoying catching up and the previews of what's coming next.

When forwarding through the pledge stuff, ignore their clips and hit play when it says "A Salute to Downton Abbey."

I really should donate something as I love the programing on PBS.

I don't feel obliged to donate at all. They get huge donations from big corporations, and I've noticed PBS shows commercials now. I'd rather have commercials than those annoying pledge breaks!
