I have seen Wallander and have not heard of Vera. I will have to look for that one. I like the Endeavour series have you seen that one? It is playing on PBS in my area right now.

Love Vera! Brenda Blethyn is great in it, such a curmudgeon. I don't know what PBS you have but it is playing I think on the Southwest/Detroit one. Wallander for me is just ok, though I do like Kenneth Branagh. I like Endeavor and Inspector Morse and I'm enjoying Whitechapel right now.

I am loving Poldark, sigh...he is just luscious. I like the Vera show. As an aside, I saw the girl that plays her assistant, sorry don't know her name, in a one woman play in NYC. She is quite a talent.

There is something about a brooding Englishman, love Poldark. I am enjoying The Crimson Field too. I just love a good period piece.

I know irsnappy Phyrnee is one sassy lady. Love the costuming and set work on this. I really enjoyed Last Tango. I have to tell you all to watch Scott and Bailey as well. A great detective series with a strong female cast. Not sure if you can pick up the first few seasons in Netflix or something or not.

Jasper I do get the Detroit PBS stations. I will have to look for that one as well. I have been enjoying the show "First Peoples". It is a 3 part show and it is so interesting telling how & where we all started and what is in our dna. So from there we can tell what part of the world our families came from long ago.

I was very unhappy when I heard about Richard, I will say no more since I don't want to spoil. I didn't think I would like what would happen in season 3 but the writers handled it very well and it was a smooth transition. I see that Season 4 is starting here in NY on PBS

Did anyone watch The Widower last night? The lead actor played the character so well. He creeped me out. I kept wondering why they would marry him.

Mamie, I was half watching The Widower last night. Doc Martin has started in the UK. I'll have to check to see if Acorn TV is streaming it. Last season I had watched the entire series before it aired in the US.

I know. How many people did this guy murder? On the Doc Martin front, he's in Season 7 I believe.

Noellepv, I've watched most of bost seasons. Hard to believe that the kid who plays Ash is the nasty guy in GOT. He's the adopted Bolton guy in GOT who's in Winterfell right now I think.

PBS is running an excellent British 6 part series called Home Fires, about the Woman's Institute right before and into the start of World War II in rural England (beginning late 1939). The first two episodes are excellent. Acorn TV so far has the first 3 episodes available of Series 7 of Doc Martin. The remaining episodes will follow. So far, the writing this season is better to me than season 6, and I enjoyed season 6 too.

ok so I am confused (what else is new lol). I watched Doc Martin on PBS a few years ago and thought the series ended then. Are Season 6 and 7 new or just new on your PBS schedule...how old is the baby. That will tell me if I missed anything.

Season 7 of Doc Martin is new. Season 6 played a year or more ago. The baby (James) will turn one year old in Season 7.
