Bates whispered it in her ear when O'Brien visited their cottage. He later told Anna what he said, and that he didn't know what it meant.

Merrysea, have you watched ahead? I don't think that episode has aired yet.

It hasn't aired yet (I did watch ahead). I'm in gray type as I'm whispering. :-)

It took me a while to wrap my head around the love interests downstairs, but in the shower today I think I got it:

Daisy likes Alfred.
Alfred likes Ivy.
Ivy likes Jimmy.
Jimmy likes Daisy.

Is that right?

Looks like we're not the only ones getting tired of some of the story lines this year:

I *think* Jimmy likes Daisy. I could be wrong though.

I loved Mrs. Patmore's line last week about how they're all in love with the wrong person.

I liked the line about staff becoming bankers and such, because the young didn't know how to keep their place.

Staff from the downstairs were the first to open restaurants, bed and breakfasts, hotels, and built the middle class while the upstairs had to deal with upkeep, now they have to open their homes to tours.

I 'think' Jimmy likes Daisy also.

The cook knows just about everything that happens downstairs. It works the same way as any family and big brother.

I guess I have been so busy watching Daisy moon over Alfred who was mooning over Ivy that I guess I missed Jmmy mooning over Daisy. I also loved Mrs. patmore's line about everyone being in love with the wrong person. I think times haven't changed, whenever there r lots of young ppl together that happens probably happens in all the restaurants

Irsnappy, have you seen Vanderpump Rules? Omg! What a hot mess! That's exactly what happens.

I didn't get the impression that Jimmy liked Daisy.

Irsnappy - I loved that line of Mrs. Patmore's also. But I love most of her lines.

I got the impression Jimmy might be sweet on Daisy when he interrupted the dancing lesson with Alfred. He told Daisy that Alfred was only learning to dance so he could dance with Ivy, but then he continued to dance with Daisy, which led me to believe he likes her. Wouldn't that be sweet? He seems a bit more mature than Alfred anyway.

There was a couple of other moments with Jimmy that made me think he was sweet on Daisy as well.

Looks like Downton Abbey is two hours tonight. Didn't realize it until someone told me, so wanted to pass it along in case anyone is recording it.

Two hours with Downton is more satisfying than the crap that passes for movies these days. Luv this show!
