Thanks Rissa, I love British shows during this time period. The change to the roaring 20's should be interesting.

Season 3 starts next Sunday in the UK, has anyone seen when it will start on PBS? I can never get much out of the tv listings page of my local station. If anyone needs a refresher of what happened last season, there's a little summary for each character here: http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2012-09-16/downton-abbey-a-bluffers-guide-to-life-below-stairs

just about to start episode #4 of the first season. Getting it free to watch through Amazon prime. I LOVE IT! I believe it starts again in January on PBS.

Downtown Abbey Creator Writing a Prequel Julian Fellowes, co-creator of the wildly popular drama Downton Abbey is musing publicly about writing a prequel after the award-winning series winds down. Fellowes, speaking during a screenwriting lecture hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, said he has already begun work on the project, which would focus on the early relationship between the Earl of Grantham and his American heiress wife, Cora. Interesting but would depend so much on the proper casting. Hard to recreate the chemistry btn the current actors.

I would love that! I always want to know more about how they met, how they fell in love, etc.

I'd love him taking some of the characters back into the more separate class society of the late 1800's.

Ohhh the characters are coming alive once again. "Downton Abby revisited" on PBS tonight with scenes for season 3 and past seasons. Angela Lansbury hosts and is great. January 6th premier.

DA Revisited was wonderful, I can't wait for Shirley M to make an appearance, should be lots of fun. Watching scene after scene of Maggie Smith riffing line after line was hysterical. Oh there will be fireworks between the 2 moms for sure!!!!

Mame - I don't know if all PBS stations follow the same schedule, but ours shows that this Sunday night, they are going to start rebroadcasting season two from 8:00pm - 10:00pm (central time), then they will repeat Downtown Abbey Revisited afterward from 10:00pm - ll:30pm. I missed it last night also, so am looking forward to seeing it.

Woo hoo! This just in from TV Guide Online today 11/30. "Downton Abbey has been picked up for a fourth season by Britain's ITV and will likely also air in the United States on PBS." "The opening and closing episodes will again be feature length with series four continuing the story of the Crawley family and their servants in the early 1920s," ITV said in a statement. New cast members will also reportedly be added.

Yes. I wonder if that special goes along with Series 3? If so and PBS shows it before Series 3, it might not make sense to us statsiders. Doesn't matter. I'll watch it anyway.
