Is anyone still watching Nashville? I still have to DVR from Nick @ Nite after the original airing on CMT, so watch on Friday. Just watched last night's episode and was shocked to see that they actually killed off Rayna! Guess the rumors were true even though Connie Britton said she "was in it for the long haul" when asked a month or so ago on Ellen (or some other talk show). I was watching the dying scene, and the episode ending thinking it was just a cliffhanger and she'd be revived, but they showed the previews for next week opening with her funeral and the aftermath.

I got spoiled online before it even aired here. If I'd been watching it without knowing I'd have thought something was going to happen to ... thingy, the heroes girl... because they were showing the two situations against each other, and sometimes it's the one that looks like it's going well that's the one that goes wrong. I hope the older daughter doesn't go off the rails again.

I was hoping for a miracle but had that gut feeling that she never was really ok and would crash. I already miss Rayna. I loved Connie Britton from Friday Night Lights, and started Nashville just to see her more. Maybe she will stay on as executive producer or director of some episodes? if that is "for the long haul". I cannot imagine what those characters will be going through...but I suspect Juliette will step in as the new Rayna in terms of being the anchor.

Geez first This Is Us made me bawl this week and then this! I hope Deacon doesn't go off the rails. Don't know if I can stand to watch that. Connie had such a big role in this show. I can't imagine it without her.

Geez, saw an ad for next week's show and it's being billed as the "mid-season finale". I hate what they are doing to TV series now with late starts, long breaks in the middle of the season, fewer episodes, etc. Takes away from the momentum and eventually I lose interest. I'm not a big Connie Britton fan. Think she's a bit of a diva and IMO, she wasn't much of a supporter of the show that was giving her a paycheck. I was shocked they killed her off after she said she was in it for the long haul, but am interested to see how the story progresses without her.

From everything I think I've read or heard this was always going to be a "one and done" season on CMT. It seems to me that writing the basically main character out of the show really sounds like they don't expect the show to continue past this season. I suppose if they could hit a "writing/acting homerun" with the remaining cast and turn that into acceptable ratings then they have a chance but that's not likely.

It wasn't a big show for ABC(?) but I think for CMT typical viewing figures it's doing really well. I guess it just depends whether that makes up for the budget it has (and killing off Rayna will have helped reduce that).

I stuck with this show from start to finish. Just watched the final episode and it was one of the best series finales ever. All of the storylines were wrapped up and the final scene was Deacon on tour singing joined by his family, the other primary characters and every cast and crew member from all 6 years of the series including Connie Britton. Very well done! I will miss this show.

I have never missed an episode either. I love how they tied all the loose strings, too. I really wanted Scarlett and Gunnar to get together in the end. Who was she kissing offstage when Deacon told them to save it for the wedding?

I am so sad this show ended. It has been my favourite show since it started. Love the music and the cast.

Windowbox, that was the only part of the finale that wasn't clear. I don't know who that guy was. I'm planning to watch the show again to see if I missed something. I agree that Scarlett and Gunnar should have ended up back together and choose to think that's what happened based on the look they exchanged in the final scene on the stage.

Thanks, Snoopsmom! I'm glad it wasn't just me. I thought it odd they would do that to us fans knowing how much we have invested in those two. I'm hoping for a Nashville spinoff with Gunnar and Scarlett but I don't see it happening. I really wish the finale had been two hours instead of one.

In post show interviews they said that the guy Scarlett was kissing was her husband in real life. They did mention something of a possible appearance by him in season 3.

I watched from beginning to end as well and also loved the finale. I was happy that Deacon started to forgive his father. I was happy that Connie Britton was there. Like many of you, I was hoping Scarlett and Gunnar would end up together, but... Good to see Will happy. And I loved how all the women came out of the blue for slimy Brad!
