I haven’t watched in years, unfortunately its another one of those shows that only cater to half the country. I was curious if the new season started. Who will be the first guest?

Like it says a few posts above, it starts Oct 1, this Saturday. Gorgeous young actor Miles Teller is host.

SNL makes fun of whomever is the current President. They ripped on Biden all last season. Instead of hating it, I look at it for what it is. C-O-M-E-D-Y.

I love SNL. It has hits and misses, but they are always fun to watch, even when it’s cringy. We’ll see what this year brings with all the cast changes. I think Miles Teller will be fun.

I agree with Naja that they make fun of everyone and it's a comedy show. Can't wait to see Miles Teller!

That article has an anti-liberal bias. :-)

Note that all the folks praising it from it's About page are all from right wing rags:

And SNL has an anti conservative bias.
If comedy is just comedy then you all should check out Greg Gutfelds show, it’s really funny. He makes fun of everyone too.

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. I've seen plenty of skits about democrats, so I'm not buying it. I think it's just that some of the conservatives in office are better comedic fodder because they're so crazy. Like Marjorie Taylor Green, or Lauren Boebert. Nut cases.

Greg Gutfield has a conservative bias. And I find his show often hateful and cruel. That's not comedy. At least he knew Sarah Palin was nuts. I'll give him credit for that.

Check this out. I was perusing the "Celebrity Net Worth" website and found this about SNL salaries. It seems pretty meager to me for showbiz.

Saturday Night Live Salary: There are 21 episodes in a season. First-year cast members make $7,000 per episode, or $147,000 per season. Second-year cast members make $8,000 per episode, or $168,000 per season. If a cast member makes it to their fifth season, they make $15,000 per episode, or $315,000 per season. The highest salary that can be reached at SNL is for people who've been there the longest or are the most important to the show. They make $25,000 per episode, or $525,000 per year.

So, Kenan must be at the highest level. He’s been there the longest.

The cold opening was great fun with two people playing the Manning Brothers doing a play by play commentary of the show. They opened the season making fun of themselves and it was good! The first half was definitely better then the 2nd half and I'm beginning to realize I never care for the skits where they all end up in animal/insect/alien costumes. Good job, Miles Teller.

Miles Teller was so good in the cold opening that I didn't even realize it was him at first!

That was a great imitation of Peyton Manning.
To me, a number if the skits fell flat. I did like the Charmin bears and wondered how Kenan was able to say his lines with a straight face about TP academy. The best was the News with Colin and Che. The new guy segment seemed like a more like able Pete Davidson when he talked about his MAGA family in Arizona. Funny guy. After the second Kendrick Lamar performance, the remaining was forgettable.

If anyone is watching the Manning bros watching the 49er game tonight, they have a special co-host, Jon Hamm.

I enjoyed last nights episode. From the Sketchers segment to Seeing David S Pumpkin again, I smiled through most of it.

It really was a good show. I knew the wedding skit was mimicking Survivor, but I sure wasn't expecting Jeff Probst to show up! haha

It was better than last weeks show, last week I just stopped watching. But the musical guy, I am so out of touch that I never heard of him, was not a fan. He reminded me of shows I saw in the 70's called happenings. I think you had to be on drugs to enjoy those shows. Was not a fan of them either.

The drug scene was not at my college (small women's college) When I went to work though, I swear everyone (except me) was high all the time as the company slowly collapsed and crashed and the people I made friends with there, usually left after a month.

SNL is back this weekend, Saturday Oct 14.

Ex-cast member Pete Davidson is hosting because he was supposed to host the last ep of last season, but the actors' had strike started. Ice Spice is musical guest. She a rapper.

I think Sat will also be the date of the premiere of the first show back in 1973? I remember there would be weekend beer parties in highschool and everyone would stop to gather round the TV and watch.

Scarlett Johansson was perfection as Katie Britt last night. Josh Brolin was pretty funny too.

She really nailed it. I love when the famous significant others of the cast do stuff like this on the show.

What Mamie said. They did the background SO perfectly, that my mind wondered when they were going to do the parody, but the actress wasn't quite creepy enough with the off-kilter smiles, so I did know it was the parody.
