I'm calling B.S. on both Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan being cast together on the same season. It's not fair to the others that they are coming in with a rock-solid alliance.

so, your discussion about how much people are paid on the challenge had me look them up and it was there with a bunch of other shows.

Personally it did not make sense to me since people have a minimum to be paid by union agreement. A friend of mine (as a child) appeared on Letterman a few times and got paid 100 something. Don't know if it is filmed out side the US if they can side step it but here is a summary

Survivor
the two runners-up each receive $110,000, but still, everyone is paid something. As long as you make it to the jury, youā€™re guaranteed a pretty penny by the end of the season. Although we certainly wouldnā€™t scoff at making $2,500 for a single dayā€™s work either.
Assuming ABC is still paying out $2,500 for each day on the island
10K for everyone showing up at the finale.

The Challenge
Everyone who appears on ā€˜The Challengeā€™ gets paid for their time, but not everyone is paid the same amount.
According to Us Weekly, newbies make $1,000 for each week that they last
ā€œeliteā€ players can make upward of $80,000 simply for making an appearance of the show, regardless of how they actually do in the competition.
Other veteran players reportedly make anywhere between $3,000 and $5,000 for each week in the competition.
hey also have to pay for certain things in the competition. For instance, players are expected to pick up their own tab for anything they drink at the bar

amazing race
In order from 10th to 4th place, runner-up teams take home $2,500, $3,000, $3,500, $4,000, $5,000, $6,000, and $7,000. The team who finishes in third place takes home $10,000 and the second-place finishers earn $25,000
they probably get more for showing up at the finale. And there are prizes.

Master Chef - the worst, cheapest.
there is the winner, then $630 a show. they have to wear their own clothes and if they get paid for an interview or appearances, or merchandise because you were on MasterChef - they have to pay 15% agent fee to Gordon Ramseys company.

Sadies, that figure for Survivor doesn't make sense. If CBS is paying them $2,500 a DAY for each day on the island, than that means when they filmed for 39 days and are on the jury, they are earning $97,500. That doesn't make sense since second place pays $100,000 and third place pays $85,000.

Even for those that don't make the jury, they still stay out there the entire time at a different location from Ponderosa. If we have 18 contestants earning $97,500 for their time on Survivor that is $1,755,000. That's insanity. Those figures can't be right.

Last I read, they get $1000/week, jury or not. However, I also read that the first person off gets $3500. And they get a $10,000 bonus for showing up for the reunion show (altho that has gone away).

Makes sense, because you leave your entire life and your livelihood?

Since the season is shorter, that means the payout is less too, either way.

I can agree to both Kar's and Pamy's scenarios. I just could not get on board with Sadie's post of $2,500 per day!!!

Sorry I just cut and pasted from different articles. 2,500 was for the first person eliminated. They got that for the time on1 island and more for the finale. I donā€™t think it is per day. I think it may be a sliding scale because donā€™t all contestants have to stay the whole month? Probably just more the longer you are filmed.

I just stumbled on a show on Fox, We Are Family. It's a game show. It has elements of Claim To Fame and Masked Singer together. Host Anthony Anderson and his Mama, of course.

A celebrity's relative comes out on the stage. They give a few clues in their intro with Anthony. Then the relative sings. While they are preforming clues flash on the screen. Meanwhile you can see their relative who is in silhouette in a large transparent sphere behind them.

There are 100 contestants guessing the identity of the celebrity relative. The winners in each set share the 20k then 30k first prize pits. At the end, the player that clocked in the fastest, gets to play for the 100k grand prize. They get 5 clues, and the money decreases with the each clue revealed.

It's quite addictive and fun to figure out the clues.

It is fun, but I can never guess, I'm not that in tune with celebrities, so the clues are mostly mysteries to me.

I think they might be using auto-tune for some of the celebs... LOL.

I guessed a good amount. I usually do well on these "guess the celebrity shows". There were a few that I recognized right when they walked out.

There was definitely auto-tune on a few of the celebrities. The ones that already use it professionally. It was very noticeable on one duet where the celebrity used auto-tune, but their relative did not lol. It's amazing how some of the relatives sing as well, or exceed, the actual celeb. The kids crushed it! But you can see how the celeb is so extatic to sing with their relative, and give them the spotlight. It's actually touching. On the last episode I teared up.

I don't care much for Mama Doris and her whole shtick, on any of Anthony's shows. But other than that, I very much enjoy the show. I don't do well on athletes. My husband could go on any show and get any sports related question correct. If they accepted couples on it we would win. We share a trivia info brain. We missed our chance years ago when they had couples on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. We could have won between us!

I've been enjoying We Are Family since it started. I don't usually guess the celebrities right, but I do enjoy them. Loved Pat Moynahan and his son, Rock.
