I think it was a combo of COVID and the Olympics taking up two weeks of summer programming time... which is why we cant see the usual round two of acts before getting them cut down to the top 36... and we already have 6 with the golden buzzers....

That's a valid point Legal. And Jimmer, yes I think they have potential. Here's a clip of the 6 golden buzzers, if you'd care to have a look. The quick change artist is really quite amazing, as is the martial arts group.

I enjoyed the quick change artist and the martial arts group. The young woman with cancer was lovely but I tend to favour the variety acts on this show over singers and dancers simply because there are other shows that are dedicated to singing and dancing.

Jimmer, it's scary how alike we think  ..I agree totally on the singers/dancer, other than the young ones, because sometimes they are talented but haven't reached the age to participate on other shows.

Also many of them have aged out of shows like American Idol, which only takes people up to 29 (I think).

Everytime I try to post in the morning, this board is in maintenance mode. Why not do this at a better time, like the middle of the night?

I think a lot of the acts who received 4 yeses are going to be very surprised that they did not advance to the live shows.

Hecka, because this board is run by volunteers, I can pretty much guarantee they don't want to get up in the middle of the night to do maintenance. I believe it's done at the most convenient time for everyone, and it usually takes less than 45 minutes, so it's really not that big of a deal

actually it is early maintenance - i believe this board is run on PST so those of us on the east coast that get maintenance mode varying between 8-9am, its really 5-6am Board time.

Yes, Legal, it's generally done between sometime between 5-7 am PST. At least from my experience.

I watched more if the Olympics than I normally do. I enjoyed the various sports, especially ones that surprise me... like women’s rugby... who knew that existed.

I love the Olympics and I watched a lot. However, I do understand why some people don’t like when it interrupts the regular schedule.
Also, it’s one of the far too rare opportunities to watch women in sports.
