I don't know if we ever had a thread for this show...the behind the scenes look at the Bronx Zoo, so I am starting one.

Season 2 is starting on Saturday night at 9pm.

Yeah...they are now showing Season 1 shows. Oh I loved when they gave the flamingo a new knee/leg.

I love this show but I had to FF through the part where the euthanized the Kudu. I did watch the results of the autopsy.

Those tiny monkeys are the cutest things I have ever seen. First of all, the grown monkey is so tiny, but to see its even tinier baby just made my heart melt.

I know Naja, I was so bummed when that happened. I just hope that they can figure out what caused him to get that infection so they can make sure no one else gets it.

And I love Kangaroo Jack, he was in my Sunday paper they were talking about his cyrotherapy (sp) treatments.

They did find out it was a fungus and it was in the brain and not really treatable, but not likely to affect other animals, so the autopsy was reassuring.

The other Kudu was back out and interacting, but they hope to got another Kudu for him.

Yes the head of the zoo.

The dark haired woman who suggested the cryotherapy is his wife. They certainly share a love of animals.

I liked seeing the fennic fox in her office.

Didn't they say that the Kudu probably had inhaled something that caused it to have pneumonia?

I loved Penny the rhino. She was like a giant puppy. I hope we get to see her have a baby in the future. Their gestation period is 16-18 months, so it would be quite awhile.

Who woulda thunk that what tigers do to make baby tigers doesn't come naturally!

Out in the wild, I guess the more dominant males would breed.

They did explain that it was because his mother did not raise him so did not teach him how to be a tiger.
