Jana, Maureen and Vanilla Ice benefitted from the face offs. Marilu lost but is probably safe, same with Terra (maybe? I think judges are over scoring her and not sure of her fanbase.. she is mean on her original show but she's not the only mean one, I guess). I thought it was interesting that she showed her hurt feelings talking to her pro, but in her reality life she is often (or was when I used to watch LWLA) one more likely to be dishing out the hurt. I suspect the hurt is real but too bad she lashes out at other LP.

Amber is really stunningly beautiful. I also didn't recognize her at first in the wig.
I've only watched this show for a couple of years, but they always talk about taking points off for a lift and that Julianne is the resident lift police. What does that mean? Are they not supposed to do lifts?
I thought Laurie was fabulous! James is really a natural dancer, and Megatron made me smile. It's so fun seeing so many of them have fun doing something they've never done before. I can relate to Maureen's aches and pains. I'm the same age as her (okay, a year older), and I get sore just vacuuming my house. I can't imagine dancing the way she is! She still looks beautiful, but her neck looks so crepy! I keep wondering if she's drinking enough water. She looks dehydrated!

Carianne (probably spelled that all wrong) deducts a point for lifts...when they first started the show they were sticklers for professional ballroom dancing rules and because they were amateurs they were cautioned to not do lifts...and yet every year they break that rule and the other judges ignore it and she still takes off a point. She is consistent for the most part. As time has progressed they have moved on to other dances that allow lifts but they are specific and it is stated at the time.
I agree about Maureen's neck - her face looks so young but her neck has really shown its age.

THe other judges are supposed to ignore lifts but Carrie Ann is not.
I think each concentrates on one area.
And lifts are illegal in most dances but perfectly ok in others and of course contemporary and freestyle.
That WAS a huge lift..
But I hate those points off as much as I hate it when a foot fault is called in tennis.

If anyone missed it, Amber Rose and Maks's dance was unbelievable. Very sensual but just great. She is a very beautiful woman.

Tara's was ok, but boy did she get high praise, and a 9 - I truly think she is not bad as a dancer and she has to overcome her disability, but I don't see what the judges do!
Omg. Laurie! Spectacular. You barely noticed the other dancers! And she's so gracious and kind. But the dancing! Perfect scores indeed! Juliette Hough was speechless, as was I!

Loved James' dance and did not see the mistake. I liked when he said he "sits for a living". Dancing and body awareness that it requires is really something he is not used to. He is a natural.

Maybe somehow needing to be very aware of the car while driving makes him tune in to how his body is moving?
I think that there are a few more stars that could possibly be eliminated tomorrow night.

I couldn't believe the shade Ms Hough threw at Ms Rose...not that it's necessarily undeserved, but be a decent American and say that stuff off-mic like the rest of us.
I didn't hear what the audience yelled to heckle Mr Lochte during judging. He's so boring, though, I can't believe people can get worked up enough to protest him. Like a serious personality deficit.
I believe people will vote for Ms Henner just to keep Me Hough around, but she's dragging down even his game. His Paso Dobles are usually remarkable; tonight was a yawn. Also, I hate his facial hair and he needs to groom his eyebrows. He's looking very "eccentric recluse" and me no like.

I wonder if he (Derek) simply doesn't care, since he has a Broadway gig lined up that will start rehearsals in the next couple of months. I thought Marilu would be better honestly. I actually don't think she's that bad - especially for a woman her age - but there are just better dancers this season...in a less talented season I think she would look better.

I agree that this is one of Derek's weakest seasons ever. Marilu may be really bad at dancing but I also get the impression that Derek isn't trying very hard either.
Laurie is far ahead of everyone else. Aside from being a great athlete, she is also a great dancer. She gets great scores simply by great dancing without many added gymnastic moves.

From what I gathered Ms. Hough said she felt "uncomfortable" watching Amber dance last week. she didn't say it to her, said it while they were dancing, open mic.
Laurie is awesome. Both Marilu and Marsha Brady are disappointments. But I give them props for getting out there and trying! James and Gleb -- I have no idea who they are but I enjoy their dancing.

I so don't even care about this, but I looked at a NY Daily News article from yesterday that had this quote from Ms Hough. Maybe it's just me, but it makes absolutely no sense: “My ‘uncomfortable’ comment was about the fact that I felt like I wanted more out of the performance — when someone is doing a hot, sexy dance like that without the right amount of energy that is required, it can be uncomfortable to watch,” she told E! News.
Anyhow, I think the producers did Ms Hough a disservice by including the comment in the broadcast. Or maybe they put it in too gin up some controversy

I don't think we can read into what Julianne meant and I certainly don't know what Bruno meant other than maybe he thought Julianne was thinking that Amber wasn't focussed on the dance or that she is spacy or something? I think it's a leap for Amber to assume Julianne was body shaming her.

uuggghhh... I'm so not into Amber Rose. Kall me KraZY, by I have no use for anyone dumb enough to get involved with Kanye. Hopefully, she will be kicked to the kurb soon.
I actually thought Calvin Johnson was scored kind of low for his Charleston. They raved and raved about it, and then he only scored a 23.

Whether she meant to be throwing shade at Amber or not, I think Julianne should have apologized for hurting her feelings. Even if you didn't mean to hurt someone, it's only right to be sorry they were hurt. I lost a little respect for The Princess last night.
Calvin Johnson and Laurie Hernandez are both just a joy to watch. I, too, am disappointed in Maureen. She's tryng hard, she's just not a dancer.
We could lose Ryan, Vanilla (why doesn't anyone call him Rob, which is his real name?), Marylu or Babyface tonight and I wouldn't be sad. Two are going home. Who will it be?
