On Twitter someone captured a pic of security tackling someone behind Ryan L. Twitter #DWTS. Some ironic tweets followed ("did the Brazilian authorities just attempt to apprehend Lochte on live tv" There were other supportive tweets
I think Maureen got a low score, Ice got a higher score than I would have given him! And Laurie Hernandez, wow! She can dance! (And only a 7 from Julie Ann, 8 from the other judges I don't understand judging, clearly!)

Yeah, it sounds like 2 guys rushed the stage trying to attack Lochte and were later arrested.
Well this was an interesting start to the season. This is the first time in years that I've watched DWTS.
I didn't realize that Derek, Cheryl and Maks were gone from the show for a few seasons. I like all of them, so I guess I picked a good one to watch!

I'm so glad I get Baltimore area channels on my cable and not DC...People are ticked off because they pre-empted DWTS for the Redskins/Steelers game; they'll air the show from 9-11AM tomorrow..
And what did those two idiots rushing the stage think was gonna happen? Jeez...

I haven't watched yet but it sounds good, of course minus ANYone being attacked.
In Touch Magazine did report that he is NOT liked on the set, very much a diva and there was a struggle because he wanted to wear his "USA Grill" (is that something over his teeth?) and producers said no.

I think Cheryl Burke looked terrific tonight. She lost some weight and looks fit and trim. I have always liked her especially when she danced with Gilles Marini.

Thank you Dfng, for stating the facts of what happened in Rio. I don't think Locte ever meant for his mother to call a reporter. There was a gun pointed @ him by a man in a sec. guard uniform; said men did detain the taxi and the boys were asked for money. What would one call that?
Brazil even admitted no charges were requested, but then held a news conference to embarrass America and try to defend their large crime rate as people from eight other countries had been robbed. That's been going on for years in Rio. Making that one guy pay for his passport is bribery...wrong.
I feel bad for Locte because I actually think he is the nicer of the two of him & Phelps, who I feel is a spoiled Mama's boy. Locte is a great swimmer, but unfortunately peaked at the same time Michael did.
Yes, maybe he needs to mature, but what Brazil did was very wrong.
Re tonight's show, I like the new gal, Jenna. Cannot believe Maureen McCormack is 60 years old. What?? She looks great; so does Marilu Henner.
Don't really have any favorites yet.

Video is out of what they didn't show. It looked like the guy stormed the stage, got tackled (from in front of Carrie Ann) the 2nd guy just kind of stood there, both were taken out. Still, why? (Unanswerable of course. Guess it's just a head shaking. There's more good than bad...)

All I can find is an instagram of the aftermath, after a guy is tackled to the ground, he is escorted out, and then a little group of women with anti Lochte t-shirts on were also escorted out. .

I guess it's arguable. When people point a gun at you and ask for money (even if they are "officials") it's kind of like a robbery. Isn't that what happened?

Jimmer, I heard that it was ALL made up. There were stories that Lochte and friends trashed a gas station bathroom, but there was no attempted robbery.

An article I read that I think it was USA today went and checked everything out that supposedly happened and they found that the bathroom was locked shut so they Lochte and the others couldn't use it, that's why they went to the bathroom in the bushes and all they did after that was rip a poster off the wall on the way back to the car. The rest was manufactured by the Rio police to make USA look bad. Yes, Ryan lied to his mom and it exploded from there, but both him and Rio exaggerated what really happened.

In total, I feel it was stupid childish behavior by Lochte. A lot of retelling of what happened with facts changing. He's 32 years old. Doesn't get a pass on this one.
What I wonder too is his parents' financial situation through the years of training. Often there is sacrifice. Did they spoil him? (I'm having a senior moment -- can't think of the word I want.) Because of his actions and words, he is losing "financial backing" by businesses. Failure on his part.

The Brazilian police have confirmed that security guards did in fact point guns at the swimmers.
In addition, they have confirmed that the guards demanded money and Bentz and Feigin did give them money.
