I very much enjoyed the Julia Child Challenge. Really enjoyed the contestants... and was SHOCKED with Voltaggio's BLUE hair!!

I’ve been watching Top Chef Juniors. One of the contestants, Molly is from my hometown. Her father has a BBQ resturaunt that’s top notch. Those kids blow me away with their culinary skills.

Yes, these kids are amazing.
There is one, named Grayson. He has such a sophisticated palate for an 8 year old.
When they were doing a pizza challenge Gordon asked them what was their their favorite pizza? Everyone was naming off things like meat lovers, pepperoni etc. Grayson says "Prosciutto, figs and balsamic vinegar"!

There is a place near me called Mod Pizza which is basically like a buffet for pizza - you go through a line and tell exactly what ingredients you want on them and then it is put in a wood fired grill - my new favorite thing (kind of like a Genghis Grill for pizza...LOL). They have a balsamic/fig sauce you can get to put on your pizza after the fact and it is delicious!

Is anyone watching Crime Scene Kitchen? I love this show. I started watching last year when it premiered because one of the contestants was the sister to my cousin's best friend. She was on with her son and they went pretty far (Cathy and Thomas)

Sorry to yell, but I LOVE CRIME SCENE KITCHEN! It fits Joel McCale’s personality perfectly to host. When he was eating the jelly donuts that got all over his hands and said he murdered a donut, then, the contestant said… that’s a crime scene, I giggled and giggled. I thought the home bakers were much better than the professionals. All the contestants have fun personalities too. So, yes…l watch.

On last nights show, I had never heard of a basque cheesecake before. Not a cheesecake fan either, but, it really did not look very appetizing. Again, Joel McHale was very delightful the entire show. I figured the couple that ultimate left was doomed mid show, when Joel noticed their complete lack of energy and played upon it. I realize that they were just stressed, but normally, the powers that be want contestants that are high energy.

I was watching my recording last night and missed the last 15 minutes because my DVR recorded a weather alert in my area which took up the entire last 15 minutes of the show. So I just went and looked for a recap and saw that the team that figured out the burnt parchment paper was Basque Cheesecake was the only team to get it correct.
I'm not going to miss the couple that was eliminated. I found them a little painful to watch.
