They are listing a dream house 2021 In Newport Rhode Island with a water view. again, no place for an elevator, lots of stairs . Master and 2 bedrooms upstairs, one bedroom en suite on first floor, one could be in basement and a roof top deck side of a hill. no pool or anything like that, but a really large garage. From the lights that are in there, I can see some bad designing, but for the most part looks good. Is it out of style for above counter storage now? IN the 2020 urban house dish storage was opposite side from sink and dishwasher the long side away, this must be all under counter storage. Lots and lots of kitchen windows. I love the location. and I have found a not bad looking indoor inexpensive elevator for first to second floor. Unfortunately, it only goes one story, I would like it to go to basement as well.

BARGIN BLOCK - I really enjoy watching these guys redo homes in Detroit. They are funny how they live in them and transport their "goods" in the shopping cart from home to home.
And I am always intrigued by what design plan they put into each home.

New show on HGTV, Why Did I Buy This House? which features Kim Wolfe and husband. She was Kim Spradlin when she was on Survivor. She did a Survivor podcast with Rob Cesternino, which was timed to advertise her first show last night.
I liked it. The goal is to fix problems that people have with houses they bought and thought they liked., which was what Kim herself went through.
Airs at 9pm on Wednesday.

New house in South Carolina is up for sweepstakes -HGTV Smart house. It looks like they put in a pool sized fountain instead of a pool, the designer is tiffany, not my favorite designer, she does not seem to consider up keep and cleaning of the house in her designs. You should not need a 20 foot ladder to dust your lights.

I saw where Kim Myles (who won Design Star awhile back) is going to have a new show where she is going to redesign pot shops (for lack of a better term - not sure exactly what they are generally referred to). I'll have to give that one a big miss.

The new Hgtv dream home is up. It is in Colorado and has a mud room with a dog shower! Hint hints. Looks perfect for a dog lover.

I've noticed that when a house is being redecorated, books on shelves do not have the spines facing out but the pages are. Is this some new trend? I like to see the titles

Yes, Cablejockey, it is so annoying. I always want to say "how are they going to find the book they want to read".
I think some decorators decided they didn't want the color of the books to "distract" from their "wonderful designs".
I always think about how long it is going to take the homeowners to switch all the books around so they can find things.
