I think this started tonight (Monday). I didn’t know it was on until I read some comments about it.

I scrolled past it. It was the same old, same old stuff. I think this show is irrelevant anymore.

Yeah it’s not great. I used to enjoy it when they had Simon, Paula and Randy judging and it was more about seeing raw talent and watching it grow and develop. There’s very little of that now. From other comments I’ve read, last night’s episode was even more over the top with sad background stories. It may be crazy but I want to see people perform and hear them sing and then listen to some critiques instead of cheerleading.

Ever since they moved to ABC, I have pretty much FFd through the junk. When someone doesn't believe I don't know someone's back story when it's been talked about so much, believe me. I FF though almost everything but the singing. When it gets to like top 24, then I start paying attention more.

Tonight the top 30 sing in front of the family, industry experts, and the other contestants, but I don't really understand what they're going to do. They're all going to vote on each other? I don't know. The explanation was pretty lame. There really are so many good singers this year, but the names that are coming to me right now are Bella, Brooks and Julian. I like more of them but I don't remember their names.

Tonight they've brought back some of the top singers from 2006. I loved that season! There were so many great singers and they seemed like a fun group. They are doing duets with the top five tonight. The returnees are Taylor Hicks, Kellie Pickler, Paris Bennett, Bucky Covington and Elliott Yamin. Randy is a mentor and Paula is judging.

I watched for the first time in years. Fast forwarded thru most of the singers except for Jordan. It seemed so flat compared to The Masked Singer which is fun.

I also enjoyed last night's show with the duets with the 2006 Idols. My favorite duet was Elliot Yamin and Jordan McCullough. What a performance! I think Jordan will be the next American Idol over Keyla Richardson and Hannah Harper. I enjoyed watch Keyla's young son singing with her as he sat in the audience. And Hanna Harper, wow, wife and mom of 3 young sons. Both of these ladies are talented and hopefully have some type of singing career ahead of them.

Unfortunately, I think Jordan will win it, too. The biggest voices seem to always win.

I loved hearing Clay sing again. Most of the show has been boring to me, so much so that I left the room and did other things while it was on.
