This week is a new theme they have never done before.
"Competitor's Pick".
Each singer will choose their own song from a list of 6 songs that were selected by their fellow contestants.
I think what will be interesting is seeing if they do the others a favor, or if they try to make it hard for them....LOL

When did CJ sing? The columnist in my paper says he is getting the best slots, late in the show, never early, in an obvious coddling of him. I didn't really notice.

CJ sang his solo 3rd today. It was right at the 45 minute mark of the show. Not really a special spot. But he did a really good job today. Much much better than last week.

Sea, I was thinking maybe you meant Caleb was getting the good spots? If you meant Caleb, yes, I believe he was almost always getting a good spot. But tonight he did his solo first.

I did a quick scan through the show again, and I think Sam did the worst overall tonight. I think he is an adorably cute sweetie, but he didn't bring it tonight.

Jena has crept up to be my fav too. I see a finale with her and Caleb. I even enjoyed their duet also . . and I haven't liked any of the duets! Sam and Alex's duet was cute too . . I liked the quirkiness they put into the song.

Almost everyone loves Jena....but I can't understand a word she sings. She is the bottom of my list, but I do like her piano playing, just not her singing, she does not pronounce any of her words, so it sounds like mumble jumble.

I think Dexter and Sam will be bottom 2, with Dexter going home. I wish he wouldn't wear the hat on stage. You can't even see him.
Agreed on the Jena/Caleb final 2, but I think Caleb will win it all.... He sings great, but I just want him to comb his hair... LOL.

I want Caleb to comb his hair, also. And some cutting or reshaping wouldn't hurt.
I also want CJ to go home, followed by Dexter. (Sorry to sound mean.)

I think Sam and Jess will be B2. Also, once you've heard Caleb, all his performances sound alike. I really don't like Jena and I'm very disappointed in AI this year. I guess I'm just getting too old for it...don't know any of the songs which makes it less fun to watch.

My hope is Alex, Caleb, Jena, Jessica top four, with Alex winning.
I think Sam and CJ will be bottom two this week, and with CJ doing better he might actually go home (I often think people get more votes when they do badly, as some think others might not vote so make more of an effort). I'd be sad if any of my top four go home, but don't mind if Sam or Dexter do, even though both have been improving.

I like CJ. I'm know I'm in the minority but he's very bluesy. He doesn't scream like most. Alex and Sam are also not ear bursting like the rest.

Seamonkey, I think that's why CJ keeps getting through. He is very likable with a great personality so I'm sure many are voting based on that. But his singing is not that great. IMO

I like CJ too, but he isn't living up to what I had hoped. Still, I'd rather see him stay then most of them.
Last night, I would have preferred Jessica go.

Only one can win & all the others will go sooner or later. I believe that Caleb has been a top contender from the beginning & Jena has come up on his tail by showing wk after wk just how talented that she is. I also believe that Alex & Sam have both been gaining voters as the show progresses. I think that Jessica started out more popular with voters than she may be now. And then there's CJ - I just do not enjoy to any degree hearing him sing out of tune wk after wk. It has to be his likability that keeps voters picking him over more talented folks.

Does anyone here think they would buy any of the contestants music? I do not see a stand out contestant this year. Not like Adam Lambert, Doughtery, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. I would not buy any of this years contestants music, jmo.

I kind of have my doubts as well. It's very hard to break into the music business. For example, "The Voice" has had some very good performers and we never hear from them after the show ends. At least AI has a significantly better track record in that respect.
I think maybe Jena, Jessica and Caleb have a slim chance. I haven't been watching that closely. Are any of them song writers? A lot depends on whether they can find some good original songs.

Jessica and Alex write their own songs. I think Alex stands out as the most original artist and fits in well with what I hear on the radio. I don't know if Jena writes but she's has that original sound too. Jessica (also Caleb) have good voices and are great at what they do, but I don't know how current they are.

Sam also writes music. They prob. all do to some degree at this point. CJ is the only one I would question.
