I suspect that Jessica sang the song just as they presented it to her without any changes. Philip, on the other hand, probably provided more input as to how HE wanted the song to sound, thus, it sounded more like him.

Holy crap! What in the name of all that is holy inspired Fantasia to wear THAT?
I loved the Phil/Fogerty duet; hated the Mantasia/Fantasia screaming match. It hurt my ears.

The audience seemed to be responding excitedly to the duet I hated. Maybe you had to be there. I seriously would need earplugs if I were there.

Lol, Naja! They must have ruptured a couple vocal chords on that one. If I hadn't heard Joshua say her name, I wouldn't have recognized her for a while, either.
I'm not enjoying this girls' performance. The sound doesn't seem right. The pointy poses are cute.
Joshua wasn't supposed to fall during the opening act, right?

Only half watching myself and missed the opening number. So far the only thing that was memorable, and not in a good way, were the outfits on Fantasia and Chaka Khan. Hurt my eyes as much as the screeching hurt my ears. They both need a visit from Joan Rivers' Fashion Police.

This is the worst finale ever. The Neil Diamond tribute is awful. Maybe that's because I can't stand Neil Diamond. Colton was good though. Wish he had made final 2.
Don't think I can watch the rest of this. May have to check out and watch Property Brothers.

I liked seeing Skylar with Reba. DH and I always call her Little Reba.
Neil Diamond? Wasn't he on last year? Maybe it was another show. I wonder how they pick performers for the finale. I read that they wanted Miley to sing with Hollie but couldn't work rehearsals into Miley's schedule. I assume they would have sung The Climb.

I loved Neil and still love his recordings. I don't enjoy his performances now, though I have heard he puts on an excellent show.

He has one habit that he does while he's doing a live show that is annoying. He talks the lyrics sometimes instead of singing them. I hate that. He has done it since I can remember. When I play his music from my collection, I only play the studio recorded stuff. I never play the live albums.
