After the board went through some really strange things this morning, things haven't been the same. Every time I leave the board and come back, I have to re-sign in. It just won't hold my sign-in.
Surely I'm not the only one?
I did all the things I would normally do. Checked the setting in my profile, cleared my browser cookies and history, and I just can't stay signed in.
eta: using Firefox, and my other sites that I have to sign in seem to be working normally as far as keeping me signed in.

I haven't noticed that myself but I am currently using Chrome.
Are you able to duplicate the problem?

Well, I have narrowed it down. I seem to stay signed in for everything except for when I use the tree view (which is all I use). The tree view won't show the hidden areas like N&V and members area on the tree view unless I sign in every time. However I can get see and get to them from the regular index page without signing in again.

And yes, I can duplicate it. It happens ever time I leave the board and come back using the tree view. If I re-sign in, I can see the hidden areas on tree view again. If I leave and come back, they are gone until I sign in again.

That's cool, Naja. Most people don't even know about the tree-view. I'm sure that Draheid will check this out.
As an aside, have you tried using the search screen or the new messages feature? I find those work well for me.

Naja, I'm not having trouble in Firefox. Just to be clear,
- in profile, *uncheck* the box that says save my cookies
- Clear all saved cookies
- Quit your browser, and reboot.
- Come back to TVCH, log in, go to your profile and then recheck "save my password" etc.

Those seem fine, but I just don't like new message feature. While many parts of the board are my favorites, sometimes I just want to check one, and tree view is so neat and clean to check if an area has a new post.

Are you using a saved link to tree view? If so, then try clicking on tree link (at the top header) and see if that works for you (and then save that link if it works).

I have to explain, if I leave and when I come back I use the index page instead, I can get to all areas of the board. Everything seems normal, except tree view. I re-sign in every time I come back to get the hidden areas of the board to show up on tree view.

It changes to whether it's a viewed link or not. If there is no new post, the area name stays blue. If there is a new post, it turns red.
And there may be something to this saved link theory. Give me a minute.

OMG, it is the link. Since whatever happened to the board this morning ended, using my link in bookmarks that I have been using for years doesn't show me signed in!

Yes, we posted about this yesterday. We changed the site to a secure website, to adapt to protocols used by most browsers today.
That changed our URL.
Probably should have posted about it in more places than BB. Sorry about that!

You should now use

to connect. All saved links should be edited to remove the "www." and add an "s" to the http.
All images, graphics, icons, clipart, etc should now be fully working and all pages should be fully secured.
