I just watched some flashbacks and WHY DOES FELICIA NOT USE A SOON TO MIX THE POTATOE SALAD?
There is no way I would eat that.

If you wash your hands, they work to mix things. We used to mix meatloaf by hand. It was cold and squishy with eggs, meat, ketchup, etc. Gross. People knead dough by hand.
Now, Sarper on 90 day the other way in Istanbul making some Turkish dish by hand with raw meat (I mean, we baked the meatloaf), that would be a hard pass for me.

Feeds are Cory and America on 1 & 2 and Felicia and Cirie on 3 & 4. Jag and Matt just concluded a conversation with Felicia and Cirie and they all hugged. Matt came over to his bed in the room with Cory and America. (Jag, Bowie, and Blue sleep in the scary room.) [Pluto commercial break.]

I just can't on the potato salad. I've seen that before here at a friend's. I put some on my plate, but just moved it around a little to make it look like I ate some. I used Weight Watchers as an excuse not to take some home.
Gosh they all went to bed so early!!!

My dad was a chef, and we were taught that to mix with your hands gives you a better idea of what you want to achieve by feel. Dishes like potato salad are mixed with hands so as not to pulverize by mixing with a spoon or other utensil. Hands are far gentler and you end up with a chunky salad and not mashed potatoes. If your hands are clean or you wear gloves it is perfectly fine. I have never done it any other way and no one has ever gotten sick.

Usually things you mix by hand get cooked afterwards. It might be more palatable if it wasn’t such a big bowl, and she was using fingertips rather than being up to her wrists in it.

I turned on the feeds and Felicia and Matt are talking outside. Blue was also up, but headed back to bed. Lights are out in the scary room and the scramble room where Cory and America are in bed. Cirie is not on the feeds.

Kitt, I agree with the whole hand mixing, up to the wrist, a bit overkill. Mixing your condiments before adding to the potatoes also helps with lighter and less mixing. You have to handle the potatoes to cut them and the eggs if you are adding them as well. She should be wearing some gloves however if you are making it for someone else.

Also mix the salad dressing, relish, eggs, spices and add the potatoes…..using gloves is not at all unreasonable and is a great idea.
