I just watched the clips that Veganking posted about Matt.
He was born deaf, and I am impressed at how he makes it seem like it is not an obstacle in his life at all. I had always thought that if someone is born deaf, that they have a hard time speaking due to the fact that they can't hear themselves.
I could not even tell that Matt is deaf at all.

I dont think Matt's lip reading will really be an asset, since most of convos are whispers in another room, like storage room etc....and wont be able to tell if someone is lurking mearby.

Thats amazing that Matt was born deaf and is lip reading so well!! That cant be easy! The guy on 90 Day Fiance was born deaf and can only sign and never learned to read lips or speak, so its rough for both sides of the couple. really tough when your 90 Day girlfriend doesnt sign.

I would think that if the HG are hanging out at the pool or in the hammock, there could be some game talk happening. In full view of a lip reader.
Of course if they know about Matt, there will be a lot of mouth covering going on!

Though that might not be 100% true this year- before they changed it, the standby feed on the picture mentioned that Pluto TV might be involved (which is free)- they do special channels for it all the time so I could see them do a temporary BB Channel with classic eps plus a few hours of live feeds every day After Dark style…

I am still not understanding how a non hearing person would garner an advantage by hiding the fact they can not hear. Only the reverse could be serve as an advantage?

According to the post dipo added to the cast bios, Matt wears hearing aids that provides him with 'typical' hearing. I wonder what the range/limits are. I am very confused as I have always been diagnosed with hearing loss or "hard of hearing" (or hearing impaired - which some see as a more negative way to describe hearing loss) and understood deaf as being unable to hear at all. Most can gain some or nearly 100% hearing with a cochlear implant. However, about half choose not to use the implants for various cultural or medical reasons. I wonder if reporting on Matt is giving incomplete or sometimes inaccurate information.

Kmin Ah, if with hearing devices he has "typical" hearing, then he will have no disadvantage over the others. But, as far as I know, there are no invisible hearing aids for extreme hearing loss. We went through this with my father. His severe loss of hearing at a young age required clunky hearing devices which he would not wear...let alone the cochlear implant they recommended. Hearing aids have improved, but you certainly can see them.

The “live feeds” link is now active, with the countdown clock running! The pre-season music is so pleasant. I have no idea why they switch it to that grating theme music when feeds are down, other than to annoy me.

I started watching the Mike Bloom interviews. His first question was “how does it feel to be on the 25th season of big brother”, then each HG answers.
I don’t like this interview style. I would rather he got to do a real one-on-one interview, with multiple questions. The result of this style, is that each person gives almost the same answer, with slight variations. Very repetitive.
Also, I feel like the excitement over SEASON.TWENTY.FIVE !!!!!! is really overblown. They are expecting things that the show is not going to do. Like increasing the prize money. LOL

I really want the show to start so I can see who they really are. Cory is another HG who is brimming with overconfidence.

Okay, I now know why these “interviews” seem repetitive.
Found out from the Madrosed podcast that Production asked each HG the same 5 or 6 questions, and then distributed the videos to various outlets. What an incredibly shitty decision this was. It does nothing to help us understand who these people are. They might as well have not done any interviews at all.
Once again, it hasn’t even started yet, and I once again they have succeeded in pissing me off!
