I wonder if the writers strike continues if BB will start early. Last time the writers strike started in the winter and that gave us winter BB.

This is what I've heard:

-The summer season could start a couple of weeks later than normal and end a couple of weeks later than normal (Like Mid-July to Mid-Late October) if it's only a shortish strike (1 to 2 months)

-The summer season could last longer (instead of 85 or so days like the past few seasons, it could go up to 100) depending on strike length...

-There could be a Celebrity BB this winter if the strike lasts a while (the one that lead to the winter BB lasted 3 months for reference)

100 days, in fact. Other unions are also in negotiations and some actors or directors or whatever are refusing to cross picket lines, which is affecting some awards shows currently.

It’s now being rumored that they’re not going to start until August and go until November because of the strike…that’s why they haven’t given anything about a premiere date yet…

I saw that on Twitter, Wilson. BBGossip, I believe is the one who reported it. This would work well for me personally since I will be moving to a new apartment at the end of July. I won’t have any feed interruptions if they start in early August. Selfish, I know.

Might be hard to get regular people to be on a show that lasts past summer if they have kids. I saw rumors about “second chances” and also “legends” retread ideas. As I say every season: just put a bunch of strangers in a house and see what happens. And every season, they find a way to screw it up!

BB25 will premiere on August 2nd, announced by CBS.

YAY! I know that not everyone will be happy about this late start, but for personal reasons, I am!!! 😃

CBS Summer Schedule Features Late Start for #BigBrother Season 25 https://tvline.com/2023/05/22/cbs-summer-schedule-2023-big-brother-season-25-premiere-date/ via
@TVLine

Although CBS did not disclose a reason for the show’s late start, conventional wisdom suggests the current writers’ strike played a role. With Big Brother’s new season now airing well into the fall, CBS has some additional breathing room with its scripted offerings.

The new, long-delayed unscripted musical game show Superfan will be paired with Big Brother on Wednesdays beginning Aug. 9, while a new season of The Challenge: USA will join Big Brother on Thursdays and Sundays starting Aug. 10 and Aug. 13, respectively.

I am already suspicious.

“a group of all new houseguests”

Why not just “all new houseguests”? Why “a group”. Suggesting there is another group? Like coaches or some nonsense? I know how much production loves their retreads.

Am I reading too much into this?

Well the date gives them some options...

If they settle the strike in the next few weeks, they probably will have the new season shows ready in October- and if BB goes 85 days like the past few seasons that'd put it at a 10/26 end date.

If it looks like the strike will go longer- like the last one that lasted 3 months (and I don't even think they're talking right now), they can add to the season if needed- a 99 day season like they did before they went to 85 would put it at a 11/9 end date.

I bet this will push Survivor back, since it will overlap with a Sept premiere

this is also more proof the diary rooms are totally scripted. The last writers strike we had BB because it was more reality than scripted

BTW- if you want to watch the feeds, the price is going up..

P+ ad-free is going from $9.99 a month to $11.99 as of the end of June (although this will now include Showtime as they’re combining the two apps)

If you don’t want Showtime and don’t mind ads, that’ll go up from $4.99 to $5.99..

#FAQ #bb25
-tv writers are on strike, which means no new scripted shows for fall (as of now)
-reality tv has writers but they're classed differently, and not on strike (as of now)
-BB starting later will extend it into fall, which is more valuable tv time, dollars-wise

I am amused and disappointed that Janelle wants people to subscribe for $2.99/mo. to see her Tweets. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am not giving money to wealthy people. I don’t care what they have to say.

Janelle complained that her favorite Chanel handbags were now selling for $10K. I guess she was used to paying $6-$7K for a freaking handbag!

Recently, I was thrilled to get a great handbag on sale at Ross for $10.00, reduced from $16.00.
