MOM, ALL the CBS reality show have pledged to cast differently and include a spectrum of people. I certainly get why the move to representation after the last couple of years.
This cast included a gay man, two bisexual women, a range of black and biracial houseguests. And my favorite HG, Derek X.
I am not really sure of Alyssa's ethnicity.. oh, duh, well Latina, I see, at least judging by her last name.
And the first person to target the white guys was.. a white guy, Frenchie.

I have not caught up with this thread.. has anyone reported the name of the "alliance" that Alyssa suggested with Hannah??

Tiff started the CO. They showed on the tv show. They were all in the kitchen when it happened
Tiff gets my vote for AVP
DX would get my vote for nice guy but he was outplayed so not my fav player

Sea I love that and don’t forget that Brittany is Autistic, the prob I have is the formation of an alliance based on the color of their skin. This has not been done before. It has been inferred but not stated

Alliances are formed every year based on the color of their skin, it just so happens that every year the people are all white and usually mostly males, JMO.

X even called the people not in CO the non blacks. Try to imagine another group doing that… the non heterosexuals or the non Asians or the… you get my drift.
CBS trying to be woke is pretty funny considering their history. Look at the Moonves debacle. They hardly went cool kid woke on those accusations.
When you give out lifeboats after ya shot the ship full of holes, it doesn’t mean as much. Lol

Well, the white players could actually have an alliance with non white people, but mostly, they don’t. It doesn’t mean they are racist. It is human nature to gravitate to people who look like you.
When there are hardly any people that look like you, its harder to gravitate, hence, harder to have an alliance.
I wish we could get past the racial issue but…it is an issue. This social experiment lets us explore it. It is a good thing to explore it, IMO.

The whole season is about race which certainly isn’t my preference. There’s been plenty of alliances with all kinds of people. The cookout people didn’t gravitate together. They actually gravitated to non cook out. The white guy started taking out white guys for them. CO members don’t even like each other mostly. Point is we’re not allowed to call this alliance what it actually is. We’re supposed to cheer it as being historic. For me, it’s just a bad BB season. Not the first. Lol

Rosem I totally agree with your comment on white privilege. As a person of color who has been on this site for 20 years I totally get the,CO.
That said I favor Tiff to win , least fav DF , AFP is Baby D.

DF is a woman hater and X is a pompous control freak and worse. X jumped on top of Alyssa while she was lying down and said "I Love You" and then told her to say it back (she said nothing). X knows Azah has a mad crush on him. He doles out the affection when and if needed to keep her in line. Ugh. Yes, I find this behavior outrageous and do not understand why no one is calling it out.

It’s a different season Hwest. Lots of stuffed not called out, ignored, deemed acceptable, and even praised. Very frustrating and not at all surprising that the board is mostly quiet. I don’t recall another year like this as far as the board postings.
I find the term white privilege very offensive but that’s apparently just me. Carry on.

I agree with Chippy. production has always controlled the casting yet the blame falls on white privilege, GMAB.
Two seasons ago a half Filipino lesbian female won the show. She gravitated to and aligned herself with a white male.
While production is working their diversity problems, I hope they include more of the older crowd and “non pretty people” as well. They go out the door way before any POC.
My takeaway from this season is how we all missed out on seeing people who grew to genuinely like each other, form friendships and loyalty and be true to each other to the end.
The whole season has been one sided and fake.

So honest question if Jackson was black, all the haters would you still hate him and blast him like you did before? If your answer was yes, then then why are DF, Ky and X getting away with their behavior

They have a new casting director.
And CBS pledged more diversity.
And as one of the black podcasters on. RHAP mentioned, there is diversity among the people of color and he was excited to have people see that. Me too!
Marameko, my choices are the same, all three. I fear that Tiffany is doomed. This HOH will be the excuse.

Yes, the alliance was formed with the goal to have the first black winner of a regular season of U S. Big Brother.
I think some of them (+Xavier) are less interested in that goal but saw a way to have safety until final 6. I would not be surprised if Xavier wanted to take Alyssa to F2, knowing the Cookout jurors would hand him the win, though that would really stick it to those people who kept him safe if Alyssa took second place money.

Just as white people are not racist for forming an alliance. There is nothing wrong with black people forming an alliance. The only reason that there is a black alliance is that the cast was more diverse. It's about time. It would be historic for a black alliance to win.

When CBS said diverse casting, I was expecting something different like 4 african-americans, 4 caucasions, 4 asian-americans and 4 latin-americans. All from different backgrounds and lifestyles.

An "alliance" doesn't win. There is one winner. There is no historical achievement for any single winner of a cheesy reality TV show (in any season)
If I had the opportunity to play Big Brother 23 my goal would be to take home $750k.

Well no matter the outcome, I’ll leave this season like I leave all the o5ers… barely remembering their names and who won last season. They’re just not that memorable… or historic.

I’m getting old and the memory is not as good as it used to be, but I don’t recall a white alliance where the criteria to be part of the alliance was that you had to be white.
