This could be very interesting. BB UK being backed by Viacom/MTV especially with their interest for a global market.

BB with a real budget, I just hope it doesn't become a BBUS clone.

Richard Desmond paid 104m pounds for ch5 in 2010, but with the acquisition of BB, Ch5 became much more valuable & sold for 450m pounds.

"Viacom's global resources, technology and expertise will help Channel 5 develop even more compelling programming and provide content to consumers in exciting new ways."

I wondered why BB viewers were so low in Australia compared to the UK but I just learned that there are 3x the population in the UK compared to Australia.

I knew that Australia had a small population compared to land mass - it has a comparable land mass to the contiguous US states but I assumed it had to have more people than on that little Island! UK is about the size of Oregon.

population 2007

Australia 20,434,176
BB Aus - BB ratings low = .9 mil - high = 1.7 mil

United Kingdom 60,776,238
BB UK - BB ratings low = 1.6 mil - high = 5.8 mil
