Looking forward to BB Canada. I'm pretty excited about the free live feeds! I hope they have an interesting bunch of characters.

Turns out it won't be online for U.S. BB fans. They posted this reply to my question: Big Brother Canada wrote: "Unfortunately Slice is a Canadian network. Since the show hasn't been picked up by a US network we can't air it or our online feeds there. We're bummed about this too since we love how excited our US fans are."

Arisa's no Chenbot, for sure. No kidding! What manly hands she has and the hair is so 1970's. Maybe she's a really good host though?

I'm surprised that the live feeds are blocked for Americans. I always thought that some things were blocked here in Canada due to Canadian government content regulations and advertizing rights but that the U.S. had a more open policy.

With respect to the above picture, the lens length and positioning didn't do her any favours.

Its not the US that is blocking it, its the Canadian network that owns it. Im sure somebody will be streaming the feed and the episodes will be easy enough to find, just like every other TV show with a minimal amount of interest in it.

Why would a Canadian network care if it got U.S. viewers?

Don't know, but they do, Jimmer. Y'all get to see my niece nightly on ETCanada, yet I can't even watch her specials or vid blogs that Global post online on the show's site. Sucks!

But is it Canada blocking that or is it being blocked at the request of American interests (advertisers). Because again, why would we care what Americans watch?

I would imagine it is all about the dollars. As for the host, as long as it isn't Leah Miller I don't care who it is. She looks just fine in all the promos I've seen. Her personality isn't going to get walked on by any contestant.

The U.S., Canada, U.K., and probably every other country in the world blocks other countries. I think it's because of the bandwidth expense. They care about broadcasting to the States because Americans near the border who watch Canadian stations can be lured by the advertising. Also, American stations often advertise on Canadian stations, and vice versa. It's all about money.

I think its more of a copyright issue. They have paid for the rights to broadcast the content to Canadian viewers, not US viewers.
