Hi all! My hubby and my brother-in-law are applying for Amazing Race 9. We are planning to shoot the audition tape this weekend as it is due by July 26th. I need ideas! I have searched the web for advice on successful audition tapes and I can't find anything worth reading. I figured I would pimp some ideas from some of the countries most avid reality show fans!! HELP!!

well, my audition tape is what got my family to the next stage for TAR 8. more than anything i learned was they want to see interaction and communication between the two people that want to be on the show together. that you are A TEAM! that you "speak" to each other on a distinct plane of thought. that you know each other so well, you can finish each other's sentences. that you are personable and fun! a killer video is the biggest key to getting noticed, and going the next step.

LOL Jan! And Landi, I think you nailed it. Now we've got to come up with some type of "dialogue" for my husband and brother in law. They are both avid fans of the show, our families have watched every show of every season.

not 'scripted' dialogue, but a real situation and how you act or interact together. a humorous or challenging situation that catches someone's eye. good luck!!! 'squeek'

We overnighted the "package" on Monday, July 26th. It was supposed to arrive in Santa Monica, CA on Tuesday by 10:30 a.m. We are now waiting to hear from AR9. And I don't mean patiently!! I jump everytime the phone rings....lol. I sooooooo want the guys to get an audition. If anyone hears any news about AR9, please pass it on! Thanks...Dilli

I am a "webbie" and can't negotiate the CBS page, so I am hoping someone will move the information over here in a more accessible form!

Thanks, Yankee! Just based on the bios - and my opinion may change once the show starts - I like Wanda & Desiree (mom and daughter), BJ & Tyler (best friends), and I'm also quite impressed by this season's older couple, Fran & Barry. But I usually end up liking most of the teams. And the more teams I like and want to cheer for, the happier I am with the show! Can't what to see where they go and what they do this season. Earlier this month they had auditions in my area for the next TAR but I only heard about them the night before they were to take place. That could have been fun to try out though!

WOO HOO!!! It looks like a great cast! The only ones I'm aprehensive of are Joseph and Monica -- I never enjoy the "testing our relationship" teams. But I digress... and I doubt they'll be much of a pain compared to Freddy/Kendra, Jon/Victoria, etc, etc... BJ and Tyler are going to be a HOOT!! (no pun intended, LOL!) They're my pick, for sure.

I'm loving BJ & Tyler. He walked 2,000 miles to impress a Japanese girl? After reading their bio, I think these two can handle anything on this race.

Thank goodness no gimmicks. From what I read their viewer ship really dropped last time with the family edition. looks like they wont be doing that one again.

hmm....My Early odds... Lake & Michelle-They're married, good......Lake is type A personality...not so good..15-1 to win. Danielle & Dani-pink T-shirts, 'nuff said. 30-1 to win-even money 1st out.... BJ & Tyler-well traveled, free spirits, but they could be too free wheeling at times....still, my early favorites at 8-1. Ray & Yolanda-They're athletic, but I really have qualms about dating teams....11-1. John & Scott-one's afraid of flying...that's never good. 12-1. David & Lori- fear of heights for one of them plus the "want to get married"....still, could be a dark horse. 15-1. Eric & Jeremy-They're athletic, which is good...but not having a lot of travel hurts. 10-1, and I'm really not sure about even that.... Fran & Berry-If Killer Fatigue doesn't set in, they have a decent chance at this, despite the age situation, since they're well-traveled.....9-1. Lisa & Joni-I really don't know about this team...they could be really great or really irritating. Either way, they probably won't go far. 18-1. Joseph & Monica-Again, the dating teams are a bit of a problem, and they want this to be a "bonding experience".....never a good sign. 14-1. Wanda & Desiree-Knowing Spanish helps, the question is, will they make it far enough to use it? 12-1. My personal guess: 1-BJ & Tyler 2-Eric & Jeremy 3-Fran & Barry 4-Joseph & Monica 5-David & Lori 6-Lisa & Joni 7-Wanda & Desiree 8-John & Scott 9-Ray & Yolanda 10-Eric & Jeremy 11-Danielle & Dani

Still hoping for bios over here for those of us who cannot access the site above!! Don't we need individual threads for the teams like we have for individual survivors??

Wow, I agree it's an interesting and likeable group. (well, as much as you can pre-judge from the network bios...) My sentimental favorites would have to be David and Lori, since I'm an alumni of the same University, and lived in their hometown for 7 years. Tnt, I can "cut and paste" the text only descriptions of the teams if you want. But I think you are right...we ought to have individual threads, with their pictures and everything. I have no idea how to do that. Let me know if you want me to cut and paste.

We'll probably get the function of "start a new thread" soon. Then we can create the separate threads. Looks like an interesting group of racers. I'm glad to be back to teams of two. I liked the family teams, however, I never did learn most of their first names. I wish we didn't have to wait until 2/28. I would be happy if TAR and Prison Break were on all year!

Thank you for your very kind offer, Flat! I think I will do better when I have the faces to attach the bios to. Surely the team threads will be posted soon!
