Well even though season 32 hasn’t aired yet, they started filming season 33 yesterday... (Rumor has it they’re holding season 32 until they know if there’s going to be a writers strike this spring- this way they have new stuff to air in the fall since scripted shows will be affected. They may air 32 during the summer though)

Wilson, you beat me to it. I was just getting ready to post that the "spoilers" are out there for Season 33 which started filming this weekend. By the time Season 32 airs, it will be about a year and a half since the winners won the race and have had to wait for their $1 million.

I will never understand why CBS treats this show like an unwanted step child! throw it on a Fri or Sat night if you dont have a spot in your line up

Didn't know about the possibility of a writer's strike. But come on! Show this show all ready!

This will be interesting to see how they work this- they only got through 3 legs (and they were in Europe the whole time), and if it's a long stoppage, I wonder if it will be easier to just junk everything and start the whole thing over...yes teams were eliminated, but other teams may not be able to continue if there's a long delay (can't get the schedule worked out, personal issues, don't want to continue, etc.)

Knowing the way CBS treats this show, I bet they just scrap the whole thing

I guess is is not a simple matter of rerouting, since the virus is everywhere but Antarctica.

We have a premiere date for Season 32- May 20th (In the Survivor timeslot). Can the mods get a thread up? https://tvline.com/2020/04/13/the-amazing-race-season-32-premiere-date-cbs/

The season that is starting on May 20, had the finale in Dec. 2018. CBS had an entire year in 2019 to film season 33 but they dicked around and put it off until 2020 only to have to cancel filming because of the Chinese Wuhan virus. CBS has no one to blame but themselves for this mess. They could have had 33 in the can last year and they would have had two seasons of TAR to air while everything else is on hold.

It has always seemed to me that TAR is an unloved network stepchild! Not much interest in getting it done and out here to us LOYAL AVID fans!!!!!

I agree. TAR is the unloved redheaded stepchild of the network. They have only filmed one season since Les Moonves stepped down (season 32). I'm assuming that the new head honcho at CBS is not a fan.

Yep. The network has always seemed to resist TAR. When it kept winning Emmy’s they were almost disappointed. Like, oh it’s won another Emmy, I guess we have to renew it now.
