YESSSSSSSSS!!!!! I can't even imagine the winners having to wait a year and a half to collect their $1 million. I was at the finale back in Winter 2018 in New Orleans.

I’m a bit surprised though- if the fall season is delayed because of issues getting production started, they’d need something like this to fill in (I’d suspect Love Island is not going to be made this summer, though I think there’s a decent shot BB will be, but maybe it doesn’t start on time and ends later)

Wilson, I thought BB was cancelled this year?

That was BB Canada Lexie- no news on BB US yet. They don’t have to make a decision yet; if they get a green light they can get things together quickly (if they can’t get any casting done, worst case they do an All-Stars or something-they also would have to do the house remodel, but they might already be working on it a little). Love Island was supposed to start last part of May- they might be close to the point of no return there, at least for that start date.

Well scratch the premiere- CBS has postponed it until a later date: https://tvline.com/2020/04/29/the-amazing-race-season-32-premiere-postponed/ (probably a good idea, since they don't know when they'll get their scripted shows back running)

And after thinking about it- there's probably no way Survivor will film for a few months, so I wouldn't be shocked to see TAR in the Survivor timeslot in the fall..

Ya it's kind of a compliment to The Amazing Race in a way but it's disappointing for fans.

OMG.. it sucks for the winners of Season 32 - it will be almost two years since they landed on the final mat before they collect their money. It's crazy that they are postponing such a popular show AGAIN so they can premiere two new shows that sound like they suck.

It’s a strange situation though Lexie- they don’t want to burn through all the material they have when they don’t know when they’ll be able to make new eps of shows. TAR has always been a good utility player, and Survivor fans probably will watch in the fall if there’s no new Survivor until 2021.

I get what you are saying Wilson... but CBS had an entire year in 2019 to film a couple of seasons of TAR and they didn't (as well as air S32 in 2019 so the winners could get paid).

What exactly is unappealing about airing a program that is anxiously anticipated, faithfully followed and award-winning? I was in sales for a number of years, and the mantra was "Give people what they want!" What's the problem here?

my guess is this season must be super boring or the winner is super unlikeable

Ooh, interesting theory, Pamy. Although Jessica and that sullen kid from Big Brother did indeed win TAR despite being immensely unpopular, and people seemed to be okay with it. Of course, I am always happy with the winners. I have never been a "Russell was robbed"-type thinker, and never will be.

I don't think so. I just think that the networks are trying to hold onto some new original programing to show in the fall when the ratings are more important with respect to advertising dollars. By the way, I enjoyed watching Cody and Jessica on The Amazing Race. It's wonderful to see how they seem to have grown as a couple and have used their differing strengths and emotions to help each other.

I was also thinking that was the reason they hadn't already aired the season even before COVID

Was it not Cody and Jessica who won Amazing Race?

Even a less than stellar Amazing Race would be welcome on my tv.

Pamy, I don't think the reason is the season is boring. I read somewhere the reason that S32 has never aired is after Les Moonves stepped down the new powers that be at CBS aren't big TAR fans. The timing makes sense because Moonves stepped down in September 2018 and S32 was filmed November/December 2018, and they had an entire year (2019) to get a couple of more TAR seasons in the can and they didn't.
