the mole and ar are my fav reality shows. i don't really see any comparison between reg. mole and cele. mole. cele. mole is so much more relaxed and funny. not as much back stabbing as reg. mole. maybe fox will pick up cm. how long has it been since the mole has been on tv? seems like the last season of the mole they stopped part way thru the season due to very low ratings. then brought it back later after sweeps.

Why does this ALWAYS happen??? Makes you want to stop watching any new tv shows. As soon as you get into them, they swipe them out from under you. Really irritating!

when i sent in my nielsen reports 2 weeks back, i specifically mentioned already been canceled's problem with pulling shows mid-run, not renewing shows we liked, etc. i mentioned the mole by name and asked for more non-celeb ones, and pointed out how abc had pulled one "mole" after 2 episodes and made us wait 6 months to see it, pulled the same kind of shenanigans with "the family", rushed to end "Push, NV" by wrapping the last 3 or 4 shows into one b-job, pulled Maximum Bob after half a dozen episodes, etc. i told them people were starting to hesitate getting into anything on ABC because they might get attached to something only to have it yanked. and i told them about it being called 'already been canceled', although i did not tell them someone named tabbyking had coined the phrase i do hope someone does take our comments seriously. after all, i made 5 whole bucks for keeping those damn diaries!

Hi, this is my first post here on the boards so bear with me. There is still hope for The Mole. Game Show Network, now known as GSN will revamp their schedule on March 15th. They are adding some reality programming to their schedule. Past seasons of The Mole being one of them. Here is a link to the story, including information about The Mole, and a couple other original shows they are adding. http://www.gameshownetwork.com/gsn_press_article.php?press_id=151

Anderson Cooper is a total sweetie. I just saw him interviewing some Disney high muckity muck. They were talking about all sorts of serious Disney & ABC issues. At the end Anderson said - Finally I have a question about a very important (or controversial, or something like that) issue - Why did you cancel the mole?

Although this used to be my favorite game show, it got ruined. Anderson left (to a his own show on CNN, granted), but then they turned the brilliance of this show to a soapbox for has-been celebrities. This show once had the very best casting in all of reality TV. The people on The Mole were always the most human, the most average, the most interesting. I loved the intelligence of this show. But the last two editions have been cheaply made and they have been lame. A hot female supermodel was the mole in both editions--how stupid do they think we are? I know they made those women the mole in order to guarantee there would be some cheesecake through the entire season. This show once attracted the smartest, most worldly reality TV viewers. It was the thinking person's reality show. But the producers completely reversed that demographic. Now it's dumb, dumb, dumb, and it panders. If would rather never see The Mole return if it can't regain the wit and grace it had during the Anderson Cooper, Europe-based seasons.

I must be in the same group, cause I love it too. Never could get into the regular series at all, must not be smart or worldly.

I liked Celebrity Mole. I guess I just loved a chance to see Tracey again. I never thought about why they cast the female hottie as the mole before, but it makes perfect sense. I didn't see through that. I thought the red head was obnoxious and uninteresting. I stopped watching after Tracey was booted. I even deleted my TiVo of the final without watching any of it except about 60 seconds of the mole reveal. I watched the original Celebrity mole up to the end, but that's because I loved Kathy G on it. I thought the editing on the original hid way too much of what was going on. Basically anything helpful to the regular viewer was left out. Also all the cheesy 'clues' that pointed to the mole throughout the season were very disengenous. Give me an editng bay, and I can come up with a similar list of clues for ANY member of the cast. Still, I did appreciate the casting of the original, non-celebrity moles. The folks were very real, with very real appearances. I'm a bit sick of seeing woman only fit for playboy centerfolds cast on most reality TV shows. It's old, I want to see some real women.

There must be a lot of people who agree with me that Celebrity Mole stinks, otherwise ABC would be picking it up again. Viewership is down 25%. That's substantial.

I guess that would leave 75% of the viewship still watching. Dumb, but substantial and 3 times bigger than the smarties. <...viewership would be down 0% for Celebrity Mole 3 in my household...>

From what I understand about Anderson leaving,he wanted to continue with the Mole, but CNN said no. I'm not sure I'll ever get over that.

I liked both version, but did prefer the original series. I liked the balance of contestants they had and I enjoyed the variety of the challenges. The celebrity version had its moments. I liked Corbin's obsessiveness. I miss Anderson and his being on CNN doesn't make up for him not being on The Mole.

Why are some posters calling themselves dumb? I called the show dumb. Kind of creeps me out to see people calling themselves dumb.

I like both but see them as apples and oranges. On the real-people mole the game was really played. I got int it much more. I felt that the contestants were really trying to win money for the pot in hopes that they would win the game. (They did their best to throw others off too.) But in celeb mole it seems more like exposure is the most important thing to them. The game is secondary and they somewhat destroy the game. I watch the show for the antics of the minor celebs. It's more like a road show.

well the % of viewers are real people... so a viewer that watches falls into that %. another poster said dumb vs. smarties. that is where the whole dumb thing came in. i agree with lauram it is apple and oranges. i enjoyed celebrity mole for what it was intended. funny antics....nothing more...nothing less.
