Yeah, thankyou HeyitsLori!!

Maris, not starting yet but the main website says they have selected their contestants. http://bigbrother.com.au/

Or I guess I should say, they have indicated that the auditions are over.

It started last year in mid to late April, so I was thinking we ought to start hearing stuff soon!

I'm hearing early May actually...

http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story/0,23663,21121366-5007183,00.html

(and it's probably because of their version of The Biggest Loser...they do an episode SIX days a week for a couple of months down there..)

WOOT! I heard early May as well. STILL, that's only *counts in head* 3 months away!!!!!!

Oh Maris, you should join in! BBAUS is a good show too despite the VAST time difference. You can get the shows just as easily as the UK ones. :-) And unlike UK, if you want to sign up for feeds you can (they are pay feeds now) just as if you were in AUS yourself. ;)

I'm excited guys, I have MISSED YOU!!! Where's OH, Clio, Naja, and OMG I know I'm missing names. Get your butts in here gang, roll call! lol

77 when I'm feeling casual

Seventy-seven when addressing me more formally

I've been brushing up on my computer skills, have learned how to download torrents, and even grabbed a few things from newsgroups.

I'm ready ...

I think I will try to learn how to download the programs this year, I never have before -- maybe it will cut down on my live feed viewing. The time difference does get a bit trying here on the west coast, especially for Friday nite games!

Darn I hadn't heard May, shoot.

The Aussie version of The Biggest Loser started last night. It feels like the opening act of at a rock concert just went on stage and is playing their first song. You just know the main act--BB--isn't too far behind.

I check BBBA so often I'm surprised I'm not charged a fee by now. I am anxious to hear more tidbits about this season!!! I know it's still a good 3 months or so away, but I'm ready for it. :D

I hope the cast is 10 times better than last year's, and more reminiscent of the people I liked in BB5. I could go my whole life without another Camilla, Jamie, David, Krystal or Claire. Hell, I'm beginning to think the only person I really liked last year was Katie. And John.

Care, I'm glad to know you're checking for us all ... that means that if we are lax, you'll be vigilant for all of us and report any NEWS!

My prediction is that we will have lots more folks from BBUS checking out BBAU this year... I think a handful of folks got intrigued with the Celeb UK version and are interested in watching a few other international BBs.

there are a variety of websites were you can either view a TV show or download one without torrents or newsgroups. as BBAU gets closer, I'll do some investigating.

LMAO, Scaze. Gah, I miss that season. I really, really do. Hard to believe that was 2 years ago now.

Dipo, BBBA is the main site I go to for all things BBAUS. They seem to have the news/rumors first....I've yet to see any other site that does. Heck in their international forum they even had our news that BB8 had been given the green light by CBS the day of or day after it happened, lol. They stay on top of things.

And yes, I will be all your things NEWS, LOL! I can't help it....I'm anxious. I feel like we're in a time warp right now.....I'm ready for things to zooooooooooooom and for at least the end of March/beginning of April to get here, I have a feeling that's when the most news will leak.

I actually read about this weeks ago but forgot to post it here (and I'm too lazy to scroll up right now and see if someone already mentioned it, LOL!). This is the same thing that BBUK did last year.....interested to see how it'll play out on BBAUS. Oh, and, the end of the article confirms the May start-date.

BIG BROTHER STARBURST GOLDEN KEY TURNS AUSTRALIA'S BIGGEST EVER INTEGRATED TELEVISION PROMOTION

29 January 2007

http://www.tencorporate.com.au/media...?id=562&type=1

Network Ten, Big Brother producers Endemol Southern Star and Masterfoods today announced Australia's biggest ever integrated television promotion: the Big Brother Starburst Golden Key.

One hundred lucky instant winners will receive a trip to the Gold Coast sometime after the 2007 Big Brother series begins.

They'll audition before Big Brother producers for the chance to become a bona fide Big Brother housemate who will enjoy full housemate privileges, including eligibility to win Big Brother 2007.

From Thursday 15 February, adult Big Brother fans across the nation can take their shot at television history by purchasing specially-marked packs of Masterfoods' Starburst.

100 of the Starburst packs will contain a unique Golden Key code offering the opportunity to win the experience of a lifetime.

TEN's general manager – network sales, Shaun James, said: "TEN pioneered integrated campaigns with Big Brother way back in 2001 and since then we have continually devised new ways to deliver for clients.

"The Big Brother Starburst Golden Key now raises the bar to new heights with Australia's biggest ever integrated television promotion, delivering exceptional audience engagement and cut-through for Masterfoods.

"This is an unprecedented logistical and marketing initiative, and I'd like to thank ESS and Masterfoods for so enthusiastically embracing it."

Kris Noble, managing director Endemol Southern Star, said: "For the first time in Australian Big Brother history, a member of the public will be chosen at random for the unique chance to become a housemate in this year’s Big Brother house …that is if they are lucky enough to find a special Golden Key code."

Starburst marketing manager, Brad Cole, said: "Given what we know about our Starburst brand lovers, the winner of the Big Brother Starburst Golden Key should be a pretty juicy character who won't hold back!

"As Big Brother die-hards know, it comes down to getting the mix of housemates just right, which is why this is such a mammoth opportunity.

"It's exactly what Starburst fans would expect – the same bona fide chance of winning as every other housemate.

"We're planning some unprecedented ways to get news of this competition out to Starburst fans … look out for the twins!"

The Big Brother Starburst Golden Key is a massive endeavour, spanning multiple platforms.

Targeting young adults aged 18-24, the Big Brother Starburst Golden Key promotion is set to be the most talked about television promotion ever.

In the lead up to Big Brother's launch and well into the program itself, TEN and Masterfoods will extensively promote the Big Brother Starburst Golden Key – both on air and in associated marketing, including a major Starburst advertising and publicity campaign, point of sale communication and on-pack branding.

Full terms and conditions will be available at www.bigbrother.com.au from Sunday 11 February.

Masterfoods returns for its fourth consecutive year as a Big Brother sponsor in 2007.

Big Brother is one of Australia's most popular and enduring television franchises, winning consistently strong audiences.

Every regular Big Brother program in 2006 won its timeslot with viewers in the target 18-49 demographic.

TEN will launch Big Brother 2007 in May.

Grrrr, my post was too old but I was going to add this....

(well I stand corrected, reading further into the post at BBBA, I realized that someone surmised from other information about this that the start-date could be as early as the 22nd of April. Apparently this winner will enter the house as early as the third week, and they have that around the beginning of May....for that to be the third week, the series would have to start at the end of April.)

Dipo, BBBA's actual site is down right now and won't be back up till closer to the start date. For now, you need to visit their forums to get any kind of information. Just go to the normal BBBA website and you'll see the forums link at the bottom of the page. :-)
