Kellee, if it were her father's dying wish as it's being said, I do think they should respect it. I feel she has a right to know but from even Emma's audition tape they do not have a close relationship, if I'm remembering right she said at the time that her father was in hospital, she had TRIED to communicate with him and the way that she made it sound, it didn't go well or wasn't received well. Not saying that matters over her knowing, but still.

I definitely think this is her father's and/or family's wish that she not be informed while in the house. If it were up to Big Brother, I have no doubt they'd tell her in the house and use it for great tv. ANY tv program, no matter where, is like that.

Care I have to disagree. No matter how distant the relationship it is still her father. She should have the choice about if she wants to be there for the funeral or not. BB cant win either way with this. If they tell her they are going to be said to be using it for great TV and if they dont they could risk hurting her more when she comes out and finds it was kept from her.

But Kellee, this isn't about BB....it's about her family's wish. And to be quite honest, we don't know what her family life is like and whether or not even Emma herself requested not to be told about it. We just don't know, and won't honestly know until she's told and out of the house and can speak for herself, IMO.

I think Emma knew that there was the chance it was going to happen when she was in the house (he had cancer), and she and her family made the decision to not tell her if something happened so it doesn't ruin the experience for her. Now if a close family member was in perfect health and died in a car crash or something, then I think you have to tell them and have the person in the house decide what to do. It's a no-win situation for the BB producers, but I would think Emma would have told them beforehand that this might happen.

Didn't Emma say in one of those things they run when they are blocking the house that she hadn't spoken to her father in six years, but did communicate with him since he went in the hospital. I am thinking that was her that said that. ITA BB is in a no-win situation.

I am sorry to hear that her dad died.

This is my first post ever here.....I have been lurking since the first US BB. This is the 3rd year I've watched BBAU.....I think it is a lot more fun!
I wanted to share a link with you. When I watch the live stream of BBAU here it will go for hours. You do need to have premium access and sometimes I have to try to connect several times, but it is so worth it. This was shared on another message board so I hope it is OK to post it here....

http://www.thesanto.com/big-brother-australia-reloader/

Also.....if you are up in the middle of the night you can watch the actual BB show from Australia on this site....

http://www.andromedanet.com/tvtuner_sop_net10.html

BUT~~a couple of days ago a message came up saying "Network Ten will be offline for a while, due to server relocation". Hopefully it will be back very soon......so save the link and keep checking!

I had to tune in to see how my future wife (Daniela) will do in the games. My love for Emma and Dani has waned.

Oh, no! I don't know why that would happen but I will tell you what I do. I bring up the official BBAU site on Mozilla and sign in. Then I open Internet Explorer and go to the reloader site....sign in there also....hit enter and then hit F5 (refresh) and hopefully it connects the first time but if not I do it again until it connects.....sometimes it takes a few times....but I have had the feed on since 4:00 in the afternoon and it refreshes itself. You do have to be a subscriber to the Premium feeds.
The BB show link is back up....FNL starts at 2:30am pacific time. I hope you can get it to work for you

thanks Biirdy I do have premium....I went back and allowed cookies and rebooted and now at last I got in....but the feed did not reload for me. I use IE not mozilla...the reloader site is too big for my screen and I cannot hit submit..maybe that's it. At least I'm back in! Thanks a lot for the help..hopefully I will get it to reload..:-)

Thanks for the link to the live show, Birddy. My dogs woke me up way too early to go out and I peeked in here, luckily, just in time to see your post and watch FNL. That's one huge download you just saved me. Thanks.

btw, I can't believe that Demet is still being so nasty about Andrew. You would have thought she might have had time to settle down now and see it's just a stressful game.

They posted a letter from Emma's brother about the situation which I think is good...it's on the official site, but BBBA has it as well...

So wilson, are we on track for Nick to go? I kind of like the guy, but he can be pretty negative so I can sure see him getting voted off considering who he is up against.

Sounds like she knew the death was possible and it isn't unexpected. Her family knows her better than anyone and they all agree this is what her father wanted for her so that needs to be respected.

yep...the oddsmakers have him basically even money to go:

Nick 1.10-1

Rebecca 5.50-1

Andrew 21-1

Andrew wanted to be the shopper/chef so he assigned himself the job. Then when he did the shopping he did a poor job and had money left over. The part I find interesting is that he told everyone he was sorry that he didn't spend the last $40. When really he had $67 leftover. Interesting that he kept the truth from them. Yet he says he isn't playing the game. Sure...

LG, lol, I don't see how keeping the truth about a money screw up means that he's playing the game (which they ALL ARE....I hate that argument so much, they all signed up for this knowing it was a game and there was going to be money at the end of it....experience my booty). Honestly, if I'd messed up that bad I wouldn't tell them the truth about the money leftover, either. It's just another reason to be disliked and yes, even put up for eviction.

Although, I'd be a little sneakier and say "Oh there was about $10 leftover, I'm sorry guys"....I wouldn't have even said $40, lol.

Also, since they all know what the twist is, and Andrew is FNL winner this week....he could just take himself off noms, so that isn't even a reason to lie about it, lol. I stick by my "not wanting to be b*tched at over it" theory, lol.

My problem with Andrew is that he and Hayley spent so much time telling everyone in the house that they haven't lied to anyone and how honest they were, blah blah blah. If you are going to preach that I expect you to back it up. So Andrew's lying bothered me more than if someone that hadn't acted so righteous had done it.

Glad Nick is gone. He was such a downer. He was always whinging about someone or something.

I find this group of housemates not very compelling ... am I alone? Last year, love them or hate them, David was a Personality, Michael was Intrigueing, Camilla Commanded your Attention. Jamie and Katie were a Story Line. that group was entertaining, and you tuned in to the live feeds because there was continuity, drama, and ... well ... real people doing real things, however falsely or really dramatic.

I am BORED with this group. There is no one I really root for passionately. Some are more likeable than others, but if BBAUS went off the air today for some reason, I'd be mildly curious as to why, but I would feel no lack in my life.

I wouldn't have said that about last year's crew, or even the Christy/Vesna/Tim/ season. THEN I would have mourned and frothed.

ah well, BBUK is just days away, eh?

It is getting to the point that it is hard for the winner of FNL to do their switch. Like what happened to Hayley when she had the power. Andrew liked who was up for noms and didn't want to switch it. Too bad they have to use the power. But I assume they are enforcing it because unless the person had to save themselves. The person would probably not use it rather than upset someone by putting them up for noms on the spot.

Jamie, Rebecca and Zoran were nommed. Andrew saved Zoran and put up Susannah. This is the first week Emma is not nommed.

Thomas is nomming in a way that he gives points to people nobody else is nomming. I haven't figured out if he is deliberately nomming people he thinks are safe so he won't feel responsible. Or if he is being sneaky and wants to get out the popular people.

Their task is an India/Bollywood theme. They are eating Indian food and doing a Bollywood themed production.

The intruders seem to be getting on everyone's nerves.

i am finding in this series more that I dislike and and find certain people grating like Emma. I had to agree with what Bree said on Uplate that Ema is not one to talk about saying things behind peoples backs. Nick hit the nail on the head that Emma thinks she runs the joint and actually his voice from the grave did her a huge favour cause I think it is the reason why she escaped nomination this week for the first time.

Here's the odds right now...

Susannah: 1.55-1
Rebecca: 2.75-1
Jamie: 8.00-1

and the oddsmakers usually tend to miss one around this time, so who knows...
