I don't think he was being nasty by calling her Ma. She is a lot older than the rest of them. I believe he was joking, trying to lighten the situation. She keeps saying he's not her type, well, they're all not her type, she could be the Mom of them all for crying out loud. And another thing....she definately looks like <66> I don't see where she gets off acting like she did. She should know better.

She obviously does not want to be "the Mom".

I thought he may have also called her "MA" maybe because she announced she had a son. No, I agree, she doesn't want to be the mom here in BB...hmmm you never know she could play that angle somehow. I myself like a tall guy, around 6'3"..lol

My theory is that as a former model, she is not aware that somewhere along the line and through the years she became a geezer. She thinks she is still 26, not 46. I have seen it happen with work colleagues, especially men who were "players." They always dated a lot of 23 year old girls, but somewhere along the line they became 45, and the 23 year old girls are now complaining to their 45 year old Daddies about the geezer hitting on them.

LOL juju. Yep, I know women like that too. They just dont see the changes in their body and still try to dress in 'current' fashion which of course, looks ridiculous. In one of the bb articles AG mentions how Narcissitic all Contestants have to be. Sheila is a good example of that IMHO

"Ma" is also an ebonics slang type term, which is how I interpreted the context of Adam's usage of it. Just like very shortly after calling her ma, he referred to one of the other guys as "bro." I don't think Adam was slamming her, being facetious, nor condescending, I think that is simply how he speaks. I took it as part of his slang lingo. And if we take it literally, then Adam was complimenting Sheila, because 1 of the ebonic defintions of the term "Ma" is: "Used in refrence to a female, generally one held in higher esteem than the average chickenhead." An example is: Female: Damn boy you fine as hell! Male: Thanx ma...

Is anyone watching Adam on the live feeds? How does he seem (personality-wise) when he's away from Sheila?

Adam hasn't been on the feeds a whole lot that I've seen. Mostly when he is, he's bashing Shiela.

I was hoping Sheila and Adam would be the first team out since she was getting on my last nerver (already!) with her continuous nasty blather towards that poor guy. Kinda sad that she wasn't smart enough to switch gears when she realized that she was't going to be able to play the <66> card, she could have slipped into best pal gear or the nurturing mom gear, cuz the WHOLE POINT is to win MONEY. The matchup is not a lifetime commitment. Geez. Show some class woman! I hope she gets nommed often and voted out early. ETA - I do want to add, that in no way do I consider Adam a prize, he is kinda <66>, but dang, STILL she had no reason to be so <66> right off the bat towards him.

my observation of Adam the ONE time I've seen him on screen, is oogling Amanda's butt and making some comments to ??? about how she likes it I personally felt that it was icky and I miss howie for the second season in a row LOL there was something harmless aobut him.

Sheila even recognized herself that she was being shallow -- going on about Adam's tight little curls. I would have thought Adam would have handled the situation better being a PR Manager, maybe it's some kind of euphemism since his grammar was horrible and he was <66>enough to call her Ma.

I think BB matched Sheila and Adam perfectly... they both seem to have an egotistical and arrogant personality... Shelia is WAY more vocal about it than Adam, but they are like two peas to me. Personally I don't care for either of them and I think they deserve each other....

I kind of think it's likely to be that way too, Kep. The term "soulmate" could be taken in a number of ways, e.g. your platonic best friend, your lover, the person who thinks the same way you do. Some people don't seem to care for people who are very much like them, and I wonder if that's the evil trick they've pulled on Sheila (and Adam).

Ma is Ebonics? Wow, I guess all those Ma & Pa Kettle movies from the 1940s were miscast. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ma_%26_pa_kettle

Shelia is <66> end of discussion. I'm 46 and I know that there is no way i would have behaved like that. It was clear Adam was not being mean or speaking down to her. "it's you and me ma" and after all she had just told them she was a MOTHER. And it isn't like he called her Grandma or granny. I too miss Howie- Adam to me is a cross between Howie and Zach. Which right now doesn't work. It's kind of like they were trying to make Zach less <100> and Howie less over the top and they failed. She didn't have to be happy with the pairing but to say the things she did and act the way she did in front of Adam says more about her character than i need to know. Don't you think if they got evicted and America had to vote one of them back in it would be Adam?

I agree she acted poorly but Adam called her Ma, she asked him not to and yet he persisted incalling her ma. so from my view in the cheap seats the are each as at fault as the other. neither one of them handled the pairing maturely... but in a way that just adds to the BB fun!!!

Ebonics or not, she asked him immediately to stop calling her that.

i would definitely not take this down to a Ebonics/ blacknwhite race issue. Ma or Maw is what we call our moms in my family (farm people) and it is cultural, not racist based.

I personally don't care what "her type" is. Adam is the last person & would have wanted paired up with too but, it's a game for $$. Suck it up girl because the hottie guys in the house just aren't interested in you. There is better eye candy for them to drool over. my type: tall, dark hair, must have at least some color to their skin (& not the polka-dotted kind), no eye color preference, hair on the head is good but hair on the back is a no-no, thinning head hair is ok too. My man must have a sence of humor, a job, be financially self supporting, and not think men are supperior to women. My guy has to also be my friend.

(& not the polka-dotted kind ROTFLMAO!! Redheads in my family. I'm most definitely polka-dot. MY type of guy? I dont think there is a onesizefitall for me. However, I think I could narrow it down to three different 'types' and throw them all into the mix. Then It would work ((my number one thing that I notice, is VOICE!- I've met plenty of goodlooking guys who's voices drove me nutz with irritation. Kinda whiney or highpitched.- Loved Eddie BB1s voice. Dick's phlegmy voice BB8 drove me crazy))

I occasionally play bridge with a group in which there is a person that I would normally stay a mile and a half away from because she is the MOST negative person I have ever met. I hope, if she goes to Heaven, that God has a LARGE redorating budget available because I can assure you that NOTHING there will be right! HOWEVER, when I sit down across the table from her as her partner, I do the very best possible job I can of communication - through bidding - and play because we get the SAME score. If I want my score to be high, I have to make hers high as well. If you run around and bad mouth your partner so that he gets voted out, you are going TOO! <100>?

I personally felt that it was icky and I miss howie for the second season in a row LOL LOL..you've come a long way. I remember when you didn't like Howie at all. Let's face it; we were spoiled by some of the peeps from Seasons 6 and 7. Season 8 was a slap in the face for some of us.
