As a Christian I really dislike their use of this term. Their only "Christianity" that I see is their reading of the Bible. I don't have anything against that -- I should do it more -- but their team name infers a meaning that they aren't living by.

Very well put, ITA Roxip. I mean...I wouldn't exactly go as far as to say that "I'm offended" but I do feel uncomfortable every time I hear the name. You hit the nail on the head though.....what bugs me is that their only "Christianity" that I see is their reading of the Bible. From what I know, you need to walk the walk.

I mean let's not pretend for a second that Jesus approves of this TV show. Period.

So I already know that when I watch this show (sometimes guiltily) I expect people to PLAY THE GAME. That is why I appreciate upfront people like James. People who don't try to to cover up, lie or make excuses for the so called "bad" things they do in the house.

I love what you said Makays-Let's be honest here. The bible and this game do not go together. You can't boast the bible teachings and proclaim to be the "good people" and turn around and do exactly what the so called "evil people" do.

Just PLAY THE GAME and quit trying to act so innocent. OR again let me quote you Makays because I love how you put it.

That is fine to play the game, but don't play the holier then though attitude when you are anything but.

I'm not offended. To me they can call themselves anything they want, and I think they can play whatever card or attitude they want - if they think it is going to get them further in the game, maybe, but maybe it will backfire.

Nick - now that was funny!

From a different view point......Right now this game is their job. I believe God cares about our jobs and helping us to make a living. In BB, you either get your stipend or a chance to win more money. Outside the game you can get by and earn your paycheck or you can do over and above and try to earn a promotion and more money.

It's not wrong to pray for a job or a promotion (remember if you get it, someone else doesn't). Perfect Christian behavior is not required for either situation. Heck if we were all perfect, why would we need Christ? In a job interview or a promotion interview, if it's between you and someone else and you have dirt on the the other person.....how many of you can say you would not use it to get the job or promotion? Oh and is that 'dirt' on the other person a judgement?

To be a Christian and go into the house and ignore what you know and not talk about your beliefs at all, is to deny Christ. To me its best that they say what they believe and quote scriptures out of context than to sit back and deny God.

I'm not thrilled with the team name, but I don't disagree with the prayers.

I agree with Mummy for the most part but my feeling is that since there is allegedly more than one Christian in the BB house, it's crazy for the HGs to act like our Heavenly Father favors one person over the other on a game show.

Although I respect Natalie's gameplay, I think it's arrogant for her to brag that God is helping her (acting like he doesn't love some of the other players as much as he loves her).

LOL...In reading Proverbs, I found the following...

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (Proverbs 6:16-19)

I wonder if Team Christ read this chapter in the Bible(?)

As a parent, it is the child that talks to me and asks me things that I can help with. The same with God and Christians. Nat prays and some of her prayers appear to be answered yes, some no. If the other people proclaiming to be Christians do not pray, how can they get answers?

I will not ever say that anyone who proclaims to be a Christian is not, even though I got real close the night Chelsia kept slamming the rosary her grandmother gave her on the counter yelling over and over, "I have a rosary, I am a Christian." Possesions or who your parents are do not make you a Christian.

As for the proverb and what God hates........God hates all sin. Thankfully God doesn't hate people.

I think that we are supposed to "pray without ceasing," so their prayer doesn't bother me...it is just their hypocrisy that drives me insane. But evolving as a Christian is a lifetime process and very rarely does anyone "get it" all at once...and none of us ever achieve perfection. That was a one-time thing. But it seems to me that some of them are playing at being Christians as a game, and that is bothersome to me.

I think that God deeply and passionately loves all the Houseguests (yes, even James), and hopes that someday they turn to Him.

Yes, this is a game, and these people are put on this television to entertain us. But I do worry somewhat about the long-term consequences of the choices that they make in the game. I would rather seem them play the game hard and with integrity than the debacle that the last two seasons has deteriorated into.

It bothers me how much God has played this game the last 2 seasons. I have no issues with bible reading and Christianity. Like some other posters here, what bothers me is how houseguests like Natalie continually preach about how good they are and how God wants them to win the game. I know we as humans are not perfect but actions do speak louder than words. I think Natalie forgot that fact while she was busy with her head under the blanket servicing Matty and talking about drawing naked pictures of herself to give to him.

Like a poster said last season, "I'm sure God is busy worrying about more important issues in the world and could really care less about who wins 500K on Big Brother."

Good post Rox.

As a Christian it's hard to think that other peoples impressions of Christianity might be based on Nat (or Amber from last year). I love that they are trying (digging into the Word to look for answers and praying) but when I watch them I keep thinking, I wish they could find a good mentor to help them mature in their faith. I would like to see more people like Jason Guy on BB--he represented Christian's well and still played the game.

You are so right Piper!!!

Nat, just continue reading the bible & stop preaching! Saying other HG deserve "bad things" is not very christian like.

I'd be interested to see how much Natalie "prays" once she gets out of the house and realizes that everyone knows she serviced Matt while she denied it. I'd be interested to see how much Natalie "prays" once she gets out of the house and realizes how much of us are offended and/or disgusted at the team name and how many of us think she did NOT act in good christian faith.

I think that's the problem...Natalie isn't spiritually mature enough at this point to be any person's role model...and her choices show it. I'm not saying her belief is not true -- it surely seems to be and it is certainly not my place to judge (judge not lest ye be judged, right?), but if someone is basing their viewpoint about Christianity off of her they are in BIG trouble...LOL!

Natalie has a sweet soul and hopefully will become wiser sooner rather than later.

Ch3, I'm sure they've read that part of the bible, and immediately attributed those sins to James and Josh!

This is why they should not be allowed a bible or any other book in the BB house. They say no tv, radio, books, contact with the outside world, etc.

There should be no exceptions, and if someone cannot live without a bible for 3 months then they should not go into the BB house.

and THAT'S THAT!!

I personally have so many skeletons that I'm surprised that there isn't a rattling sound following me around all the time.
