Puppy's post above (I can't get the italics thing to work yet !)
This is exactly why I am losing interest and will probably continue to lose interest. The format no longer produces any surprises. It is all a numbers game. Yhe only way to change that is to let the audience vote again. They can tweak it by giving the viewing audience a 50% weight and the house majority 50%. They can alternate weeks in which it may be a house vote or it amy be an audience vote but not let the HG's know which week. Whatever, the house is much too predictable and as Puupy said, the mob mentality is not fun to watch. It diminshes interesting people.

I am addicted to TVCH and get everything I need here. Sunday night I didn't even watch when the show was on. It was boring the way it was edited.

Yawn, not worth watching on Showtime. Wonder why they don't cancel it there. So boring!

We are going on vacation next week. In past summers I have scheduled driving times, activities, dinners, etc. around the tv shows and important house happening times (Friday noms, Saturday POVs, etc.) It was absolutely essential that our hotels had high speed internet access so I could read all the updates here and watch live feeds into the wee hours.

This year I am DVRing the shows and will watch them when I catch up on everything else after the trip. I will have a fun vacation and see and experience everything with my family. Any high speed internet access will be used to check email and TVCH boards, not necessarily the BB one. I am just not into it this summer.

I'm not as into it either this year. I think it's because it is early in the season. I still really look forward to the shows. I don't have as much time this summer to read about BB, even if I did, I don't know if I would. But I still love BB and the bit I do read about it here!

Not so addicted..... ED & Dani were too much of a turnoff. The things that those two got away with bothered me enough to lose the entertainment value.

I still love BB. I will admit that I don't have the feeds on all the time like I used to, but I still keep up with the updates and live feed discussions. I can turn the feeds on when something exciting is happening.

The burnout after the winter season is there. It made it more exciting for me to have to wait all winter long for the new hamsters. The anticipation was more like it is for your birthday or Christmas morning or the first day of vacation. If those things happened more than once year as well, that feeling probably wouldn't be the same either.

Being pretty much homebound these past few years, I would rather have a few boring or annoying seasons now and then than no BB at all. It is wonderful to know that while BB is on I can always come here to TVCH and someone is here, day and night, to talk to or "listen to". The sense of community is a lifesaver for me on some days. That's part of my addiction I suppose.

As for this season, I am really happy that we finally got our houseful of strangers that are, for the most part, "real" people. They are talking about all kinds of real life topics. Our wishes have been granted and I am looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

Nicely put Cynny.........I would miss BB if it were off the air totally. When BB ends and Survivior begins I have to remind my self...... that there are no live feeds or online info.
BB and TVCH has many of us reality junkies spoiled.
Well, I am for sure.

I'm addicted even more this year. After ED/Dani and then the winter edition (which I rarely watched), I was ready to throw in the towel on this show. The only thing that separates this season from the first three seasons is the SLOP!!! (Slop = Worst.Idea.Ever.) Other than that, I'm thoroughly enjoying this season (for the first time in years).

Tonights show sparked my interest in BB this season. It was blah for me until tonight. I'm more interested now and rooting for Rennie after watching her tonight. I didn't have a favorite until now.

I'd like to see Jerry kick some of those young butt's out. Him and Renny, one by one :::kick them to the curb:::

Not as addicted. This began for me last season and has continued into this one. I am hoping one of these people will really grow on me and I can root for them, but as it stands now, I am rooting against Jessie instead of FOR a favorite. I've never felt like this until the past two seasons.

not as addicted, sepecialy after watching the AUS version. It was awesome, I cnat believe they are saying it was their worst season. The Aus one would have weekly tasks, and then have the cameras on during them, so it made the feeds fun to watch. They did cut the sound a lot, during important c onvos, but the things coing on in the house were much more interesting and fun to watch I thought. Also, they were very intimidated by Big Brother, who was pretty sarcastic and funny. If they were disrespectful or broke any rules, they got punishments. Im trying to get into this season, but its slow...

I'm not nearly addicted. I don't have the feeds...not since All-stars. I'm tired of the herd mentality, but I blame a lot of that on AG and the BB rules that I think are partly created to make it easier to edit the show.

For example, why do they need to spend 5 minutes of the Tuesday show having the "veto player picks." Boring.

I also agree with toolhound-the slop issue is dumb. I don't think it adds any drama or excitement to the game at all, and in fact hurts the game by making the sloppers worse players.

I like some of the ideas mentioned above. One idea I'd like to see that would make it more difficult for an alliance to hold together unless they really develop trust and/or good strategic relationships: Don't tell the HG's the vote total that results in eviction. People are less likely to follow the herd if they can be more anonymous.

not keep bringing up AUS, but instead of slop they just got staples, and had to bake their own bread and everything...it was much more interesting I thought

The past two series nearly destroyed BB for me. The one with Dick and Daniele showed such lothesame behaviour I stopped watching, just peeked at TVCH from time to time. Despite all that, I watched the 1st 2 shows of the winter series and could not stand wasting another minute of my life with that bunch.

As for the new BB, so far I have enjoyed the 2 episoeds I've seen. I don't have Showtime anymore and was on vacation so who knows. I agree with Puppypaws earlier post regarding what is wrong with BB so that it is not really enjoyable for me anymore. Ultimately, I think getting rid of the current production team is long overdue.

The same. I'll watch hardcore until it gets down to a few then burn out. Although I burned out much sooner on BB9.

I'm definitely not as addicted. In addition to having so much more to keep me busy, it seems like already they're voting out the people I like who like to have fun and the "gang" seems to want to target the others I like. I do have BBAD, but most nights I fall asleep watching it. Lucky me - tonight I didn't fall asleep and it was so boring.

Maybe it will get better as I get to know the people better, but there's already a several I'd like to see gone pronto and they're not who I thought they'd be in the beginning!

Definitely not as addicted... I'm totally hooked on BB UK right now, and I think that really slows me down on getting into BB US... the herd mentality has GOT to go, I don't know how they break it but it gets so old to watch. I wish people would just come in, be themselves, and see what happens. I think the only way to do that would be to have a combination of more challenges (to make them work together), splitting the house up arbitrarily (like the heaven/hell sides in the UK, except make it arbitrary-- and people in heaven get all the amenities and people in hell don't), and/or bringing some real public voting back. Even if it's "3 predetermined weeks" during the season-- just don't tell the HGs which ones they'll be voting on.

I do feel like there are some nice things so far-- this group is the most down to earth, "normal" group of HGs in YEARS.. maybe since BB3? From what I have watched on the feeds, I rarely come in to hear how they're going to make it big in Hollywood, open a restaurant, get arrested, whatever.. they seem to be fairly normal people. It makes me feel like this season has potential, but it needs a bit more time. (the first few weeks always feel slow)

I really think the US format just creates a more boring show... I think these HGs are ok, so far I don't love or hate anyone, though. The shows are always the same, the segments are the same, the cheesy music is the same.. they need fresh blood in the production booth before the show just totally runs its course. If the production values were a little higher and the challenges more creative it would really help.

I love BB because it is unique. We can see what is really happening, not just what the 'producers' want us to see (like other reality shows). We can look at what 'they' (producers') present as the show and know what is true.

That said, two BB's in one year is too much.

Since season one I have watched the feeds. To see what they are really doing. To say during the aired shows, 'that is so clipped and not the true situation at all'. I rermember not even being surprised at the live shows.

But, I really am not drawn to the feeds as I was in the past.

I know I am missing a lot of stuff, but I just can't seem to find the urgency I once had to run to the computer and see what is going on for myself.

I find myself, postponing BB for other programming. Even the live feeds.

I am hopelessly behind on the truth of this season of BB.

The problem is that I'm not sure if I care.

Yes, I do have favorites at this point. I just can't seen to care enough.

Still hanging in there.

I am ALMOST cured!!!!

I don't fret anymore if the show is on, it is taking second or third on my preference list to watch and most scenes on fast forwarding (food comp and nominations).

I do come in here at least once a day although I no longer start threads or post so much.

I start to think that maybe Dick brought BB to a maximum point for me and now it's all downhill.... (even though I did not enjoy his game he sure knew how to get my attention...) and also there were better looking people in previous seasons and more interesting than this bunch. Brian could have had what it takes but they got rid of him too soon...

I do like it this way as I want to sleep at night...

A little along the line of "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" and Spunky's fun reference to almost being cured, does the mere fact that people have the desire to post in a Big Brother thread that they are no longer addicted, mean that they are still partially addicted?

Apparently, yawn...

This is my first post in this season's BB thread. I totally missed Sunday's show and didn't even realize it until yesterday (and the only reason I remembered was cuz I was channel surfing in my hotel room last night and landed on BB at 9). I haven't watched the live feeds since Season 8 (didn't watch them at all during the "winter" season).

While this cast may be a bit more diverse (albeit with a good number of wannabes) and the producers sort of went "back to basics" with a house full of strangers, it's still lacking something. I dunno if I'm just burned out, outgrew it, or am so busy in RL that I don't care any more.

But... yawn. Definitely not addicted and mostly not even caring.

There are many other areas of TVCH outside of Big Brother that people enjoy. So even if they aren't around the BB area, they may be there.

For anyone who is interested, try clicking on some of the links at the top of the BB General Discussion area and do a little exploring. :-)
