Interesting Tishala. I am also watching TAR on the Game Network because I haven't seen the previous seasons before. I dislike Marla also. I find her extremely annoying and can't wait till they are eliminated.

Brenda, it is interesting to know they start out in Denver in the next race. In the airport shot it looked like the airline they were going on was VARIG which is the Brazilian airline. Maybe we have the start and the first stop figured out. I would guess Rio.

Ladyt, I know. I was one of their non-fans! Heehee! I was just surprised at how the Weavers were lambasted--deservedly, I think--for their behavior while Marla and Charla largely got a free pass, even though Marla and Charla were several times worse.

Disliked Mirna & Charla, the Godlewskis (I actually disliked them the most this season), the Weavers and the bickering of the Paolos. Don't like the way Jonathan treated Victoria, and I could go on and on ... I think seeing all of these teams interact poorly with each other made the pure enjoyment of the game and the attitude of the Linz family, why I am drawn to really like them. This season, I liked the Gaghan family the best and cried when they were out. Part of my enjoyment is picking the protagonists and antagonists each time.

Mirna and Charla were annoying, played dirty, used her height to get sympathy when they needed it etc. but I didn't see them give up week after week and I don't recall them saying they were the "only good team left". Every season there are teams to dislike, some seasons provide us teams that are easier to dislike than others. I really, really wish I had the game show network so I could watch too. TAR is my favorite reality show.

All of them pale next to my beloved team Guido. :D I loved to hate those guys. Now I look back on them fondly.

Mirna and Charla, among others, were even more annoying the second, etc., time around on the GSN! ACK.

I remember finding Team Guido rather amusing, if I'm remembering correctly. Didn't they go shopping after the fast forward and blow their lead? I finally watched my tape of the early show. What a bunch of sour pusses the Weavers are.

I enjoyed the family Amazing Race. I cannot forget that poignant scene of little Caissa Gaghan fighting back tears as Phil told them they were eliminated. She made me cry.

Team Guido (as they called themselves) are a gay couple who appeared on the first season of TAR. They were an incredibly talented well-traveled team. They were funny and entertaining but they also played a very aggressive sometimes-nasty game and showed fairly big egos. Many people didn’t like the way they played but they also had some big fans.

Finally finished watching the entire 2-hr finale (I had watched only the ending Tuesday night to make sure the Weavers had lost). I was so amazed at how the Bransens and Linzes were in sync so much of the time; and their completing of the map almost at the same second was amazing! Also amazing was their attitude towards each other; the most supportive I think I have ever seen two teams in the final stretch. I remember one Bransen daughter cheering when the Linz son completed the trapeze (and the Bransens were behind at that point) and they seemed to be working in tandem to some extent in finding the tickets at the stadium. Also interesting to me is the fact that the Bransens and the Weavers could BOTH have been out of the race if it weren't for luck; both had the luck to come in last in a nonelimination leg. As far as I know, that never happened for the Linzes. I am very happy with the results, and hope the dating news of one Linz with one Bransen is actually true!

That's true clutter. I was thinking of that. Three of the final four teams were the beneficiaries of non-elimination legs. The Linzes were the only ones to not finish last in any leg. Were they even second to last in any leg?

Let's just say that Team Guido, if not for being overconfident, probably would have won the first season. As stated above, they had a pretty good lead and then won a fast forward. They thought that gave them the right to relax and take an extended time off from the race and would have been eliminated that night; they came in last. Fortunately...or unfortunately...depends on which side of the fence you were on...Another team was disqualified that night for not completing a task. ..Allowing Team Guido to stay in the race. And as Jimmer stated they did have a sometimes extremely nasty streak. One that stands out in my mind the most is when all the teams were at the airport and they physically blocked the entrance to the boarding ramp so nobody else could pass. If I remember correctly, there was almost some punches thrown over that one. Like I said, I hated them back then...but can look back as see how good they played the game and few have compared since.

oh man, I missed Team Guido as I haven't seen the first season yet. I'm not fond of many of the teams on the current GSN TAR. Either annoying, backstabbing, &/or too aggressive. Not one of my favorite seasons. I like Chip & Kim, and the Bowling Moms. That's about it at this point. I loved Team Cha-Cha-Cha (is that correct?) I forgot what season that was.

Cha Cha Cha was such a fun team! Loved Chip and Kim and it didn't hurt that they live in Orange County, too!

Ok, I remember seeing "some" of season one since a local guy was one of the winners and it had been posted in the paper to "watch him" prior to anyone knowing he and his partner had won. I think they were both lawyers??! I just may have seen that fast forward you're talking about! I think they were in Paris(?) and they had to go to this tea place and they got the fast forward there? I remember them being all proud of themselves and how they knew the area and blah blah and then went wandering around. I also recall people sleeping on the ground out in the cold in sleeping bags right after that part, I think. I do remember them being funny and then snarky and mean the next min. Is that also the race where they had the dog sleds at the end? I thought that was truly an AMAZING ending!!

The Guidos got their Fast Forward in Thailand (I don't believe they had a good lead before the FF -- they had to compete against Nancy and Emily). After winning the FF, they were supposed to go to the Pit Stop but because the next bus wasn't scheduled to go for many hours, they stayed at a hotel. What they didn't show on TV was that they were told by locals that it was too expensive to take a taxi to get to the Pit Stop. All the other teams did take taxis and finished ahead of the Guidos. Nancy and Emily were eliminated because, thinking that they had no chance after losing the FF, they didn't finish a Detour and were assessed a 24-hour penalty. There were then four teams left and The Guidos started the next leg more than 8 hours behind the first place team. Hours of operation allowed them to catch the 3rd team (Kevin/Drew) but also caused the first two teams to be ahead by about 24 hours.
